Mushahid calls for making ‘Islamabad plastic-free’
ISLAMABAD, APR 30 (DNA) – Senate Sub-Committee on Climate Change, which met at COMSATS, has launched a campaign to making Islamabad plastic-free by August 14, 2019 so that the Federal Capital becomes “Clean and Green”.This was stated by Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Chairman of the Senate Sub-Committee on Climate Change during a meeting at the COMSATS where he addressed the students and the faculty of the COMSATS and sought their support for this cause.
PM Imran to perform ground-breaking of Mohmand Dam on May 2
ISLAMABAD, (DNA) – Prime Minister Imran Khan will perform the ground-breaking of Mohmand Dam on May 2.Senator Faisal Javed, in a tweet, announced the ground-breaking and thanked the donors for contributing for the dam.In February, the Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) Chairman Lt-Gen (retd) Muzammil Hussain informed the Senate Standing Committee on Water Resources that the Mohmand Dam would be completed in five years and eight months.
Tunisia keen to promote bilateral trade with Pakistan

Pakistan, Nigeria Naval Chiefs discuss bilateral ties
ABUJA, (DNA) – Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi, who is on a visit to Nigeria, had separate meetings with the Nigerian Chief of Defence Staff and Naval Chief.During these meetings, matters pertaining to bilateral cooperation including naval collaboration came under discussion.The Naval Chief also highlighted endeavors of Pakistan Navy in maintaining peace and stability in the region particularly regional maritime security patrol.
Fake accounts case: Faryal Talpur challenges NAB inquiry in SC
ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Faryal Talpur has Tuesday challenged the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) inquiry into fake accounts case in the Supreme Court.The PPP leader also challenged her summoning by the anti-corruption watchdog in JV (Joint Venture)-Opal 225 case. The plaintiff took the stance that it is not in the NAB’s jurisdiction to investigate JV-Opal 225 case.Faryal Talpur requested the apex court to nullify the NAB inquiry and suspend the summon notice. It is worth mentioning here that the PPP leader has been alleged of taking Rs1 billion bribe in JV-Opal 225 case.
Aleem Khan’s judicial remand extended for 14 days
LAHORE (DNA) – An accountability court has on Tuesday extended Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Aleem Khan’s judicial remand for 14 days in assets beyond sources case.Duty Judge Syed Jawad ul Hassan conducted the hearing and inquired about the reference against the PTI leader. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor informed the court that final report has not been prepared yet, and it will be submitted after competition.

Ready to normalise ties with Saudi Arabia: Iranian envoy
ISLAMABAD: (DNA) – Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost said on Monday that his country was prepared to cooperate in any efforts for normalisation of their relations with Saudi Arabia.The ambassador said during a meeting of the Pakistan-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group, which met at the Parliament House under the chairmanship of its convener Senator Lt Gen (R) Abdul Qayyum. PM discusses new technologies in Pakistan with Huawei founder
ISLAMABAD: (DNA) – Prime Minister Imran Khan thanked Huawei for setting up their office in Pakistan and for its continued investments in the country.The prime minister has said this during a meeting with founder of Huawei Mr Ren Zhengfei. The two sides discussed the development of ICT technologies and how to enhance mutual cooperation in the future.The prime minister said that Huawei may strengthen its collaboration with Pakistan through local manufacturing, technology transfer in such fields as AI and contribute to Pakistan’s economy.
