Movenpick plans exclusive coffee shops in Pakistan

KARACHI, APR 01 (DNA) –  Movenpick, the makers of Swiss ice cream, has launched its coffee brand in Pakistan with a plan to open exclusive outlets, separate from ice cream parlours. With the objective of creating a market for coffee in Pakistan, a ceremony to mark the launch was held recently at the Consulate of Switzerland where different varieties of coffee, along with espresso machines for capsules, were exhibited.

Jamshoro to have Pakistan’s first ‘supercritical coal-fired plant’

KARACHI, MAR  30 (DNA) – Jamshoro Power Company and Siemens-HEI will develop Pakistan’s first supercritical coal-fired power plant in Jamshoro, according to a statement released by the Power Division on Thursday. The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the first unit that has a capacity of 660MW was signed at a ceremony in Islamabad. A five-year operation and maintenance (O&M) contract was also signed.

Over half of medical prescriptions in Peshawar are illegible

PESHAWAR, MAR 29 (DNA) –  Studies has revealed that 58.5 percent of medical prescriptions by doctors in Peshawar are illegible, difficult to read, and full of errors. A research article published in the Pakistan Journal of Medical Sciences examined 1097 medical prescriptions in six major hospitals and pharmacies in Peshawar. The study shows has no physician provided all the essesntial information in the prescription.

Nissan confirms entry into Pakistan and aims to produce local parts

On Wednesday, Ghandhara Nissan held an event where the company officially confirmed its re-entry to Pakistan. The company has a massive and aggressive localization and indigenization program for Pakistan. Nissan plans to launch its first vehicle by 2019, making use of at least 20 percent of parts that have been locally manufactured.

Shanghai Electric submits fresh acquisition intention
