ISLAMABAD (DNA) – The government has agreed to stepwise increase electricity prices by Rs2.60 per unit after the bailout deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).The hike in rates will provide relief to the national exchequer worth Rs200 billion that are given as subsidy. The prices are scheduled to be surged in two phases which will create a new wave of inflation.

Court sends 11 Chinese nationals on 14-day judicial remand
LAHORE (DNA) – A district and sessions court in Lahore has Monday sent 11 Chinese nationals involved in fake marriages with Pakistan girls on 14-day judicial remand to jail.The suspects have been accused of blackmailing and forcing Pakistani girls into indecent activities after marriage in China.The accused were presented before the court by the Federal Investigation Agency after two-day physical remand. Judicial Magistrate Amir Raza conducted the hearing.

Assets case: NAB court extends Aleem Khan’s judicial remand till May 27
LAHORE (DNA) – An accountability court has on Monday extended Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Aleem Khan’s judicial remand till May 27 in assets beyond sources case.Duty Judge Syed Jawad ul Hassan conducted the hearing and inquired about the reference against the PTI leader.Meanwhile, a hearing on Aleem Khan’s bail plea was also conducted by Lahore High Court (LHC).
PPP, PML-N reject govt’s $6 billion bailout deal with IMF

Sri Lanka town under curfew after anti-Muslim attacks
Sri Lankan troops in a northern town fired shots into the air and police imposed a curfew Sunday after mobs attacked a mosque, in renewed religion tensions in the wake of the Easter terror attacks.Police spokesman Ruwan Gunasekera said that the mobs in Chilaw, 80 kilometres (50 miles) north of the capital Colombo, also attacked Muslim-owned businesses.
Alleged facilitator of Data Darbar blast released
GUJRANWALA (Dunya News) – Police have released one of the alleged facilitator in the Blast near Data Darbar Lahore. The alleged suspect named Zeeshan was taken into custody by CTD police but he claimed innocence in a video message.Zeeshan said he is a local grocer in AimanAbad, Gujrawala. He was there at the shrine to pay his respect and had nothing to do with the incident.
