AlHuda CIBE sign MOU with Uzbekistan Lessors Association

DUBAI, MAY 24 (DNA) – Uzbekistan Lessor Association (ULA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AlHuda Center of Islamic Banking and Economics (CIBE), to implement promote Islamic leasing business in the country with the help of its association members.According to this Memorandum of Understanding both organizations will draw a strategy to promote Islamic leasing business enabling environment and to organize trainings and capacity building programs in the country.

British airways flight to London to begin next week

ISLAMABAD, MAY 23 (DNA) – British Airways is beginning flights between London and Islamabad next week.  The final touches are coming together for the airline’s return ahead of the first flight on Sunday June 2.The three-per-week service is operated on a three-class Boeing 787 Dreamliner with World Traveller (long-haul economy), World Traveller Plus (long-haul premium economy) and Club World (long-haul business class) available.

Younus Dagha removed as finance secretary

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – The government has removed Younus Dagha as the secretary of finance, a day after Board of Investment (BOI) Chairman Haroon Sharif resigned from his post.Adviser to Prime Minister (PM) on Finance Hafeez Shaikh had met PM Imran Khan, and it is being speculated that Naveed Kamran Baloch would replace Sharif as finance secretary.The notification, in this regard, will be issued in a day or two.

MUMBAI (DNA) – Bollywood veteran actor Anil Kapoor has finally revealed reason behind casting Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan in Indian movie ‘Khoobsurat’ opposite to his daughter Sonam Kapoor, saying that he liked his work.In an interview, Anil Kapoor said, “We faced a lot of problem while casting the male lead for Khoobsurat. Nobody was ready to do it. All the leading men had refused to do the film.”

NAB’s attitude is putting people under mental pressure, says CJP

The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Asif Saeed Khosa said on Thursday that due to the attitude of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), people are under mental pressure.A three-member bench headed by the CJP was hearing the bureau’s plea against the acquittal of a suspect named Attaullah. During the hearing, the CJP asked whether the bureau’s purpose is just to register cases. He lamented that the bureau’s only purpose is not to just make cases but to also attach evidence for those who it has made cases against.

Zardari skips NAB summon in fake accounts case

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Former president and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday excused himself from appearing before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi on the pretext of busy schedule in the ongoing investigation into the fake bank accounts case.Meanwhile, the former president wrote a letter to the NAB, stating that he could not appear today due to busy schedule, and asked it to manage another date for him.

Industrial consumers of gas will have to come under amnesty scheme: FBR Chief

ISLAMABAD, MAY 22 (DNA) – Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chief Shabbar Zaidi on Wednesday has said that all the industrial consumers of power and gas will have to register sale taxes by paying two percent tax under Amnesty Scheme by June this year.Addressing a news conference in Islamabad, FBR chairman said the government will make legislation and take steps against the sales tax unregistered manufactures from July this year.
