Govt paid back $10 bln on debt servicing on loans taken by previous governments: PM

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has said PTI government has paid back 10 billion dollars on debt servicing on loans taken by the previous governments.In an interview, he said we are focusing on controlling current account deficit and money laundering to relieve pressure from the rupee. He said we inherited record current account deficit of over 19 billion dollars, which increased pressure on rupee.

Pakistan starts getting Saudi oil supplies

ISLAMABAD, JUL 01 (DNA) -Pakistan is due to begin receiving oil supplies on deferred payments from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the start of the new fiscal year.Pakistan will start receiving monthly oil supplies worth $ 275 million from Saudi Arabia with effect of July 1, 2019.These supplies will continue over the next three years, with a total value of $ 9.9 billion.

President Alvi lauds GB govt for plastic free drive in Hunza

Road to Makkah: 10 counters established at Islamabad airport to facilitate Pakistanis

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Saudi Arabia has begun Road to Makkah project at Islamabad Airport today (Monday) to facilitate Pakistani pilgrims.A spokesman of the Ministry of Religious Affairs said a Saudi delegation has arrived in Islamabad to start the project.He said establishment of a special counter for Road to Makkah has been completed at Islamabad Airport and the Saudi delegation will start performing its responsibilities at the airport from today.

Ogra notifies significant hike in gas prices from July 1

ISLAMABAD, JUN 30 (DNA) – The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has issued a notification about the increase in the prices of gas for domestic consumers with effect from July 1, 2019.However, it has made no increase in the gas price for consumers falling in the first slab of domestic sector consuming less than 50 cubic metres per month.

Govt’s Asset Declaration Scheme 2019 ends today

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Government’s Asset Declaration Scheme 2019 ends today.Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Shabbar Zaidi has said that no extension shall be given in the scheme after today’s deadline.Meanwhile, the FBR has issued instructions to its subordinate offices to remain open today and observe working hours till 11pm. The step has been taken to facilitate the taxpayers in payment of duties and taxes and filing of income tax return.

Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to visit Pakistan in autumn

LONDON (DNA) – Prince William and his wife Kate will be undertaking a royal visit to Pakistan in the autumn at the request of Britain’s Foreign Office, Kensington Palace confirmed on Saturday.Further details will be provided in due course, their office said. Pakistan’s high commissioner in London welcomed the announcement.
