Three bombs kill at least 12, wound dozens in Afghan capital

KABUL, JUL 25 (DNA) – Three bombs rocked the Afghan capital of Kabul on Thursday, with one hitting a bus carrying government employees, killing a total of at least 12 people, officials said.Five employees of the ministry of mines and petroleum were killed and 10 wounded in the bus attack, the officials said, adding that seven people were killed and more than 20 wounded in the second explosion.

CPNE, APNS reject media courts plan

ISLAMABAD, (DNA) – The Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE), while expressing serious concerns on the announcement of media courts made by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, has rejected the proposal.In a statement issued on Wednesday, CPNE President Arif Nizami and Secretary General Dr Jabbar Khattak said the CPNE stands against any kind of discriminatory legislation and would oppose discriminatory media law at all forums.

156 Pakistanis receive fulbright scholarships to study, teach in U.S

New oil and gas reserves found in Sanghar

SANGHAR (DNA) – In a major breakthrough on Wednesday, the Oil and Gas Development Company Ltd (OGDCL) issued a statement that it has discovered oil and gas reservoir in district Sanghar of Sindh province.According to OGDCL notification, the oil and gas reservoir was discovered in Pandhi area of Sanghar.“The joint venture of Bitrism Block comprising of Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) as operator (95 percent) and Government Holdings (Pvt) Limited (5 Percent carried) has discovered oil and gas from its exploratory well Pandhi # 01, which is located in district Sanghar, Sindh province.”
