Nawaz Sharif disqualified for concealing assets, submitting fake testimony: SC

ISLAMABAD, AUG 24 (DNA) – Supreme Court (SC) on Saturday remarked that non declaration of assets in nomination forms has made system and people corrupt.The apex court said former premier Nawaz Sharif was ousted for not declaring assets and submitting a fake testimony.Announcing a verdict on of disqualification of member assembly, Supreme Court said any ease given to members in this regard will be harmful.The court said the results of non declaration of assets would not be good.The court further said actionable steps must be taken to tackle this situation, adding that PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif had concealed assets of Capital FZE in 2013 nomination forms.

Imad Wasim ties the knot at Faisal Mosque

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – In a simple ceremony attended by family members, all-rounder Imad Wasim Saturday tied the nuptial knot at the Faisal Mosque in Islamabad with Sania Ishfaq – a British girl of Pakistan-origin.The groom wore white kurta and waistcoat at the event. Imad Wasim’s father – Syed Wasim Haider – talked to Dunya News and revealed that the all-rounder has married the girl of his parents’ choice. The couple had met in London for the first time.

Qureshi to hold telephonic talks with Antonio Guterres today

UNITED NATIONS (DNA) – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi is scheduled to hold telephonic conversation with Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres on Saturday at 5pm PST.According to sources, FM Qureshi will apprise the UN secretary general about simmering tensions between nuclear-armed arch rivals Pakistan and India over atrocities and human rights violations by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir.Currently, Mr Guterres is on an official visit to France.

GDP growth in Uzbekistan reaches 5.8% in Jan-August

TASHKENT, AUG 24 (DNA) – the Senate Speaker of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva has announced statistics on development indicators.“Unlike previously reported figures on paper, GDP growth in 2019 reached 5.8% in practice. This shows the real effect of the reforms,” Kun.uz correspondent quotes the Senate Chairperson as saying.According to the Chairperson, while most of the positive indicators in Uzbekistan were mainly related to production or services in the agricultural sector, industrial growth was around 7% in the first half of this year.

Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan discuss strengthening cooperation

TASHKENT, AUG 24 (DNA) -Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, within the framework of the meeting in the “C5+1” format in Nur-Sultan, held talks with the Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Beibut Atamkulov, the MFA press service said.At the beginning of the talks, Kamilov congratulated his Kazakh counterpart on the productive results of the meeting between the heads of CA foreign affairs agencies and the USA.The ministers discussed the practical implementation of agreements at the highest and other levels reached within the framework of the Uzbek-Kazakh contacts, exchanged views on priority areas for further strengthening of multifaceted cooperation.

It was emphasized that each event, within the framework of the ongoing “Year of Kazakhstan in Uzbekistan”, is very successful and becomes a clear evidence of friendship ties between the parties.

Atambayev accused of plotting a coup in Kyrgyzstan

Former President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev is accused of preparing a coup in the country.this was stated by the head of the State Committee for National Security Orozbek Opumbayev.“He needed blood to start a coup. That was his intention,” SCNS head Opumbayev said.It should be recalled that on August 8, Kyrgyzstan’s law enforcement agencies have detained the country’s former President Almazbek Atambayev.

First lady ensures Pakistan’s support in global effective access to assistive technology

Dr. Firdous says Kashmir issue clash between two ideologies
