AIOU announces admission of its merit-based programs
ISLAMABAD, FEB 04 (DNA) – Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) on Monday announced the ‘admissions schedule’ of its merit-based programs offered in the current semester spring, 2019.The last date for the admission is March 5. The Pakistan government has announced “drastic’ steps to woo especially foreign tourists by introducing a new visa regime whereby the government has extended ambit of e-visa and allowed people from over 50 countries to get visas on arrival in Pakistan.The announcement is significant in the sense that it may increase flow of visitors from other countries provided the incumbent government is able to provide them with an atmosphere free from insecurity.
Law and order ostensibly has been the main stumbling block in the way of foreign direct investments and promotion of tourism.
Undoubtedly, counties where the tourism industry is constantly on the move thus contributing heavily to the national exchequer, law and order situation there is well under control.
CDA to develop neglected sectors to increase its revenue
ISLAMABAD, FEB 03 (DNA) – Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to focus on thus far neglected sectors. In this connection a CDA team comprising Member engineering and relevant directors lead by the chairman CDA visited I-14, I-15 and I-16 sectors.
The sector I-14 has serious access problems as well as issues of services. Roads are in dilapidated state and utilities are hardly available. Similarly Access to I-16 is also not in usable condition.
The chairman was apprised that contract is pending execution for want of only Rs. 50 million.
On this the chairman immediately directed that finance wing to allocate this amount and this issue shall be resolved forthwith.

ISLAMABAD, FEB 03 (DNA): Allama Iqbal Open University has launched special academic programs for overseas Pakistanis, particularly those living in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, UAE, Sultanate of Oman, Bahrain and USA.The programs include Allisan-ul-Arabi (Basic Arabic Course), Arabic Bol Chall, Secondary School Certificate (Matric), Higher Secondary School Certificate( FA, I.com), Bachelor Programs (BA General Group, B.Com, B.A Mass Communication and BA Library Science), B.Ed (1.5 years), MBA (Commonwealth of Learning), Dars-i-Nizami and Short Term Courses.
