ECP to dispose of election material of ‘undisputed’ General Election 2018 constituencies

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has decided to waste the election material of General Election 2018.Sources familiar with the matter told the media on Saturday that the ECP has directed all regional and district-level election commissioners to comply with the orders, and dispose of ballot papers, counter files, forms of non-disputed constituencies.However, the election material will be discarded of only those constituencies whose cases were not pending in the election tribunal or courts.

Legislators urge for national response for achieving SDGs and recognizing the role of private sector

ISLAMABAD,  (DNA) – In what could be a significant step towards achieving SDGs and national development agenda in Pakistan, lawmakers representing major political parties from Senate, National Assembly and four Provincial Assemblies recognizing the importance of achieving SDGs joined hands and vowed to lead the process for generating a national response for achieving SDGs.The legislators had gathered at the First National Legislators’ Conclave, on Financing Sustainable Development Goals. The conclave was organized by Institute of Social and Policy Sciences (I-SAPS) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ).

Kashmiris not to succumb to India’s repression: AJK president

BRUSSELS, SEPT 14 (DNA) –  The AJK President Sardar Masood Khan has called upon the Kashmiri and Pakistani expatriates to make hectic efforts to highlight Kashmir issue in Europe in its true perspective. “Kashmir was and would never become part of India but this is a conflict, and its solution lies in the relevant UN resolutions only,” he declared.Addressing Kashmiri and Pakistani Diaspora here on Saturday, he said that India through the use of brute force would never succeed in suppressing the just struggle of Kashmiri people for the realization of their inalienable right to self-determination.

Fire and thread: Bayeux-inspired ‘Game of Thrones’ tapestry unveiled in France

BAYEUX, France (DNA) – The French town of Bayeux has been home for nearly a millennium to a tapestry depicting a bloody battle for power.Now it has another.An exhibition featuring a tapestry illustrating the events of hit HBO TV show “Game of Thrones” opened in Bayeux, Normandy, on Friday – just down the road from the museum where its eleventh century inspiration is housed.The tapestry was created in Northern Ireland, one of the principal filming locations for the series. Around 30 stitchers worked for some 1,500 hours on the stretch of linen, which begins with King Robert Baratheon visiting the Starks in Winterfell.

Nuclear war’s consequences are inconceivable: PM Khan warns world

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Prime Minister Imran Khan, in an interview, has warned the global powers and the international community of grave consequences if a nuclear war breaks out between arch-rivals Pakistan and India.“It is a nation that will fight till the last breath,” he said while referring to a possibility of using nuclear arms in the war.“[The aftermath] of a nuclear conflict is unimaginable […] and anything is possible if two nuclear-armed states enter into war against each other,” he said.

US Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib condemns revocation of IoK autonomy by India

WASHINGTON (DNA) – After US Senators Todd Young, Chris Van Hollen, Ben Cardin and Lindsey Graham wrote to President Trump raising their concerns about the ongoing situation in the held valley, Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib also condemned New Delhi’s revocation of Articles 370 and 35A in the India-occupied Kashmir (IoK), Dunya News reported on Saturday.Rashida Tlaib released a statement regarding the situation in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and said, “I condemn the Indian government’s revocation of Articles 370 and 35A, the communications blockade it has imposed, its suppression of life-saving medical care, and the reports of widespread violence, torture, and other human rights violations being carried out in Jammu and Kashmir.

Kyrgyz State University and University of Peshawar sign MoU

Chinese envoy for enhancing manufacturing capacity of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, SEPT 13 (DNA) – Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Pakistan, Yao Jing  has said both China and Pakistan enjoy time tested friendship and it has been strengthening day by day.

He said that there was a need to enhance the manufacturing capacity of Pakistan and many Chinese companies were willing to come to Pakistan.

Under the CPEC the focus of cooperation between China and Pakistan is mainly in Power, Transportation and Industry sectors.

EU MPs call for Imposition of trade sanctions on India

BRUSSELS, September 13, The AJK President, Sardar Masood Khan while welcoming the European Parliament’s decision of holding a debate on Tuesday (September 17) on the situation of Kashmir, has said that the decisions reflects growing concern in Europe over the deteriorating human rights situation in occupied Kashmir.

Addressing a conference on Kashmir jointly organized by Friends of Kashmir Group in the EP and Jammu-Kashmir Self-Determination Movement, at the European Parliament here on Friday, he warned about imminent risk of genocide of Muslim population in occupied Kashmir, and called for swift action by the international community.
