AJK President welcomes letters by US Congress members to Indian government

ISLAMABAD, (DNA) – Sardar Masood Khan, President Azad Jammu and Kashmir, has welcomed and appreciated a letter addressed to the Indian government by six members of the US Congress’ House Foreign Affairs Committee seeking information about the number of detainees held under the Public Safety Act and demanding that the US Congress members and journalists be allowed free access to the Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir to ascertain human rights situation on the ground.

Chaudhry Sugar Mills case: Court adjourns hearing of Maryam Nawaz’s bail plea till tomorrow

LAHORE (DNA) – The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday adjourned hearing of a bail petition filed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Maryam Nawaz in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case till tomorrow.A two-member bench headed by Justice Ali Baqir Najfi presided over the hearing and inquired from Maryam’s defence counsel if the petitioner has been meeting her father Nawaz Sharif.To this, the court was told that she has been granted permission to meet Sharif.Importantly, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has also submitted its response in the court regarding its stance over the bail petition.

Coalition Command announces reposition of Coalition forces in Aden

RIYADH, (DNA) -The Coalition Command announces that under its continues efforts to coordinate military and security operation plans and enhance humanitarian and relief action in Yemen, in addition to strengthening the efforts to secure waterways adjacent to Yemeni coastlines.

Coalition forces have been re-positioned in (Aden) to become under the Kingdom’s command, and redeployed to conform with requirements of current operations.

Pakistan denies India’s request for use of airspace by Modi for overflight

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – The government has announced its decision not to grant India’s request for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to use Pakistani airspace for his overflight.In a statement, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the decision has been made “in context of today’s Black Day and in view of the continued gross human rights violations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.”He said the Indian High Commissioner was being informed of this decision in a written form.“India has consistently carried out grave atrocities and inflicted tremendous pain and misery upon innocent Kashmiris who have been landlocked and cut-off from the outside world for more than 80 days since India’s unilateral annexation of a disputed territory, said FM Qureshi.

Opposition agrees to hold rally outside Red Zone for Azadi March: Sources

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – The government’s negotiation committee on Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl’s (JUI-F) Azadi March once again restored talks with Rehbar Committee of opposition to discuss the protest.As per details, Defence Minister Pervaiz Khattak, head of government’s committee, held a telephonic conversation with head of opposition’s Rehbar Committee Akram Durrani.Pervaiz Khattak told Durrani that government will not object to the March if opposition backtracks from holding protest at Red Zone. Khattak said opposition can hold rally anywhere outside Red Zone.

President Alvi meets Prime Minister of Nepal on the Sidelines of 18th NAM Summit
