Now he is the third generation to take up the tradition in Pakistan, which is thousands of kilometres from Scotland yet sells thousands of bagpipes each year.The fresh smell of wood floats through the Mid East factory in Sialkot, on the eastern side of Punjab province, where Farooq is one of the managers. Workers are busy standing or sitting on the ground.Covered in sawdust, they carve the wood and polish it. Rosewood or ebony serve as the blowstick, into which players exhale. The drones — long pipes with a lower tone — follow a similar process.

Former Indian Naval Chief terms Balakot air strike ‘election stunt’

Politics may turn violent if anything happens to Nawaz: Khawaja Asif
LAHORE (DNA) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former foreign minister Khawaja Asif on Saturday threatened that politics would turn violent if anything happens to former premier Nawaz Sharif – who is serving seven-year imprisonment at the Kot Lakhpat jail in the Al-Azizia Steel Mills corruption case.“Nawaz Sharif has never insisted on availing treatment abroad,” he said while speaking to the media.However, the option of sending him abroad for treatment could be considered upon his release from the prison on bail, he added.
Bodies of missing Italian, Brit found on Pakistan mountain

Fawad Chaudhry urges ICC to take notice against India for ‘politicising’ cricket
ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry has pleaded with the International Cricket Council (ICC) to take a stern action against the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for ‘politicising’ cricket.The information minister took to Twitter on Friday evening and expressed strong reservations over Indian national cricket team wearing army caps during the third one-day international (ODI) against Australia.Contrarily, the BCCI stated that the Indian cricket team wore army caps to pay tribute to the paramilitary troops who were killed in the Pulwama incident on February 14.

India wants to enfeeble Pakistan with terrorism in Balochistan: Fawad Ch
ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Information Minister Fawad Chaudhary on Saturday has said that India wants to enfeeble Pakistan by holding terror attacks in Balochistan.In an interview with Russian, the minister said it is unfortunate that the Indian Prime Minister created war frenzy and used the Pulwama incident for his personal political gains. He said unless the elections are over in India, the chances of moving forward towards peace appear to be difficult.
