US talks: Taliban delegation to stay in Pakistan till Sunday

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – In light of the ongoing talks with the United States, the Taliban delegation will stay in Pakistan till Sunday.The delegation will hold meetings with important persons in Pakistan. US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad is also present in Pakistan.According to sources, Pakistani leadership had earlier met Zalmay Khalilzad in America. Let it be known that the US envoy held a sitting with the Taliban delegation on Friday in Islamabad.

Mesmerizing folk artists performances leave audiences spell-bound, at French embassy

ISLAMABAD, OCT 5 (DNA) – The French embassy celebrated 45 years of Rafi Peer Theatre workshop and its outstanding contribution to the arts and culture in Pakistan.Thrilling performances of renowned Pakistani folk artists such as Saeen Zahoor, Tahseen Sakina, Mian Meeri Qawals, Shoukat Dholiya, Nighat Choudhery and Wahab Shah virtually left the audiences spell-bound, majority of whom was comprised foreigners and diplomats.For most of them this sort of music was a real feast as they did not hear such kind of music before. Especially those diplomats who have just arrived in Pakistan were greatly enchanted by this zonre of music.

EU allocates € 300,000 to provide emergency relief to earthquake victims in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, OCT 04 (DNA)  – The European Union is allocating € 300,000 (PKR 51.4 Million) to provide emergency humanitarian assistance to families affected by the earthquake that struck Pakistan’s eastern region in late September.The funding will address the most pressing needs of around 3,000 vulnerable people in some of the hardest-hit areas.“We are acting fast to channel emergency aid to those most affected in Pakistan,” said the Head of the EU Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations Office in Islamabad, Bernard Jaspers-Faijer.“Our funding will assist the most vulnerable and help provide shelter to those who have lost their homes and belongings in the aftermath of the strong tremor. Our thoughts are with all the victims and first responders working around the clock to save lives.”

Malaysian parliament delegation meets PM Imran Khan

In Hong Kong, protesters target mainland and pro-Beijing businesses

HONG KONG, OCT 02 (DNA) – Hong Kong anti-government protesters are increasingly focusing their anger on mainland Chinese businesses and those with pro-Beijing links, daubing graffiti on store fronts and vandalizing outlets in the heart of the financial center.Protesters took aim at some of China’s largest banks at the weekend, spray-painting anti-China slogans on shuttered branches and trashing ATM machines of outlets such as Bank of China (601988.SS), while nearby international counterparts such as Standard Chartered (STAN.L) escaped untouched.

Armenian PM says they support Indian stand on Kashmir

WASHINGTON, (DNA) – Sardar Masood Khan, President Azad Jammu and Kashmir while talking to an audience consisting of academics, researchers, lawyers and journalists, said that a just and lasting solution to the Kashmir dispute lies in the implementation of the UN Security Council resolutions and firmly urged not to rely on bilateral dialogues with India.The President made these remarks while speaking on the Kashmir crisis organised by the Middle East Institute (MEI) and INDUS, a DC based diaspora led think-tank. The event was hosted by Marvin Weinbaum, Director for Afghanistan and Pakistan Studies at MEI, and Raza Rumi, President INDUS.
