Sri Lankan envoy presents credentials to Kyrgyz President

BISHKEK, OCT 09 (DNA) – President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Jeenbekov received credentials from Ambassadors of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Japan, Republic of Ghana, Kingdom of Spain, Republic of Moldova and the Kingdom of Bahrain.H.E. Mr. Sooronbai Jeenbekov congratulated each ambassador personally on the beginning of diplomatic mission in the Kyrgyz Republic and expressed confidence that their professional experience would contribute to the development of relations between the countries.

Russia warns US policies in Syria could ‘ignite’ whole region

NUR-SULTAN (DNA) – Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Wednesday warned of the risks of Washington sending mixed signals on an American withdrawal from northern Syria.Turkey is preparing for an offensive into northern Syria after US President Donald Trump announced on Sunday he was pulling back US troops who had served as a buffer preventing the long-planned attack on Kurdish forces.Trump has blown hot and cold since his surprise announcement, also insisting the United States had not abandoned its Kurdish allies by pulling out of the area.

Irish PM says very difficult to secure Brexit deal by next week

DUBLIN (DNA) – It will be very difficult to secure a Brexit agreement by next week with big gaps remaining in the British position, Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar said on Tuesday following a phone call with his British counterpart, Boris Johnson.“I’ll certainly work until the very last moment to secure that (a deal) but not at any cost… I think it will be very difficult to secure an agreement by next week, quite frankly,” Varadkar told Irish national broadcaster RTE.“Essentially what the United Kingdom has done is repudiated the deal that we negotiated in good faith with Prime Minister May’s government over two years and has sort of put half of that now back on the table and are saying that’s a concession and of course it isn’t really. There are two big gaps.”

Gen. Bajwa holds meetings with Chinese military leadership

China, 8 October 2019: General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) met Commander Army General Han Weiguo, People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and General Xu Qiliang, Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC) at PLA HQ. Regional security environment including situation in Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IOJ&K) and Pak China defence cooperation were discussed. COAS apprised Chinese military leadership about consequences of the ongoing situation in IOJ&K if it’s not amicably resolved for which India needs to respect UN resolutions and ensure the human rights of Kashmiris.

September 27, 2019 will go down in the annals of history of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf as a ‘landmark’ day because Prime Minister Imran Khan delivered a speech that virtually gave a new lease of life to the ruling party, which was under huge criticism from even the die-hard party workers, who believed the party had miserably failed in living up to its promises made during the election drive. There is no dearth of PTI critics who still believe that PM’s speech, though was an excellent narration of Pakistan’s point of view on the Kashmir issues, yet it was only a breather for a short span of time and PTI had to deliver on its vows and promises if it really wanted to stay on for remaining period of its tenure.

COAS Gen Qamar Bajwa reaches China

RAWALPINDI (DNA) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday reached China on an official visit.In a statement issued on Monday, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor said that the COAS will meet Chinese military leadership including PLA Army Commander, Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission & Commander Southern Theater Command.General Qamar Javed Bajwa will also join the Prime Minister in meetings with Chinese Prime Minister and President.
