Korean artists gave enchanting performances at RAC

RAWALPINDI, OCT 16 (DNA) – Artists from Jeollabuk-do Provincial Institute for Korean Traditional Performing Arts, Korea gave a wonderful performance at Korean Cultural Festival and mesmerized the people of twin cities on Monday late night.The festival was arranged under auspices of Embassy of Republic of Korea in collaboration Rawalpindi Arts Council.State Minister for Climate Change Zartaj Gul graced the occasion as chief guest flanked by His Excellency Kwak Sung Kyu, Ambassador of Republic of Korea, Saman Rai, Executive Director Punjab Council of the Arts, Lee Tae-Geun, Director of  Jeollabuk-do Provincial Institute for Korean Traditional Performing Arts, Korea,  Naheed Manzoor, Ghulam Qadir Thebo, Deputy Director General Anti Narcotics Force, Riaz Soomro and Abrar Alam, Director Operation.

Kyrgyz President stresses need to focus on development of joint economic projects

ASHGABAT,  (DNA) –  President of Kyrgyz Sooronbai Jeenbekov has said there is need to focus on the development of joint economic projects and expansion of industrial cooperation, at the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State in Ashgabat (Turkmenistan).The President noted the importance of giving a new impetus to the dynamics of cooperation between the CIS countries, aimed at ensuring the growth of welfare and quality of life of the peoples. He also drew attention to the implementation of projects to introduce innovative achievements in the agricultural sector and logistics.

KARACHI, OCT 15 (DNA) – Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) parliamentary party leader in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh here Tuesday said that the PPP is behind the Azadi march of Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman but nobody would be allowed to create crisis and anarchy in the country.Talking to media outside Sindh assembly, he said that Junior Zardari is talking about a protest campaign.He said the party of Junior Zardari in so incompetent that it has failed to catch even a single rabid dog in Sindh and it seeks help of rangers. He said in Sindh 135000 people were bitten by dogs but they were not given vaccine.

Uzbek ambassador holds briefing on upcoming parliamentary elections

PM Imran leaves for Riyadh today to facilitate Iran-Saudi talks

23 persons bitten by rabid dog in Karachi

KARACHI (DNA) – At least 23 persons, including a police sub-inspector, were bitten by a rabid dog in FC Area of Central District of Karachi on late Monday night.The dog-bite patients were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital but the hospital administration asked the patients to bring Anti-Rabies Vaccine with them as the vaccine was not available at the hospital.On the other hand, the residents of FC Area have been restricted to their homes due to fear. Rescue teams along with police and Rangers personnel have launch a search operation in the area to find the rabid dog.

FATF meeting: China, Turkey, Malaysia express satisfaction over steps taken by Pakistan

PARIS, OCT  14  (DNA) – Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has examined the compliance report of Pakistan in its meeting held in Paris. FATF has expressed satisfaction overnew risk assessment study of Pakistan and brotherly countries including China, Turkey and Malaysia have supported stance of Pakistan.Sources said FATF appreciated efforts of Pakistan against terrorism and corruption. Pakistani delegation gave satisfactory answers to all questions of FATF. Pakistan also satisfied Indian members on questions about terrorism outfits working in Pakistan.

ICC scrapes Super Over boundary count rule after controversial World Cup final

KARACHI:  (DNA) – The International Cricket Council (ICC) has scrapped a controversial boundary counting rule from super-over regulation that helped England win the World Cup 2019 final against New Zealand.ICC faced severe criticism from various quarters after the winner of the ICC World Cup 2019 was decided on the number of boundaries hit by a team after New Zealand and England, both were tied in 50 over competition and the super-over tiebreaker.

Prince William, Kate Middleton land in Pakistan for historic tour

RAWALPINDI, OCT 14 (DNA) – : British Prince William and Catherine (Kate) Elizabeth Middleton, also known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, arrived in Pakistan late Monday evening.The royal couple touched down at the Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) Nur Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi, near Islamabad, as Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, British High Commissioner to Pakistan Thomas Drew, officials from the Foreign Office, and top government officials cordially received them at the red carpet.
