QUETTA: (DNA) – Prime Minister Imran Khan reached Balochistan’s provincial capital on Friday as an initial stop for his first inter-provincial tour. During the two-day visit, the premier will also visit Sindh and Punjab.Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid and PM’s Special Adviser Yar Mohammad Rind are also accompanying him.Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan and other provincial ministers and members Balochistan Assembly received the premier at Quetta airport.

Two SC employees suspended for issuing Nawaz’s bail after court timings

ISLAMABAD, (DNA) – The Supreme Court suspended two of its staffers for delivering the written order for Nawaz Sharif’s suspension of sentence in Al-Azizia reference case at Kot Lakhpat jail after the court timings.On Wednesday, the apex court had directed authorities to release former prime minister Nawaz Sharif after he was granted a six-week bail on medical grounds.The verdict was supposed to first reach the Lahore jail’s administration so they could release the three-time premier in light of the court orders.

Dow Martin of Pakistan expands its investment in France

PARIS, MAR 28 (DNA) – Dow Martin of Pakistan, which owns two pharmaceutical plants in France, has added a state of art oil based soft capsule manufacturing facility in its exiting Health Care Pharma plant located in the city of Gien 200 km away from Paris.The newly added manufacturing facility was jointly inaugurated today by the Ambassador of Pakistan to France Mr. Moin ul Haque and Mr. Paul Laville Deputy Governor of France of Gien.

Afghan envoy to return to Islamabad after PM Imran’s remarks clarified

KABUL: (DNA) – Afghanistan will return its ambassador to Islamabad after Pakistan clarified Prime Minister Imran Khan’s remarks that Kabul had deemed to be political interference, the Afghan foreign ministry said on Thursday.On Wednesday, Pakistan’s Foreign Office clarified that PM Imran’s comments on Afghanistan had been misinterpreted and reported out of context in the media, leading to an unwarranted reaction from various quarters.In his comments on Monday, the prime minister had referred to Pakistan’s model where elections are held under an interim government. “The comments should not be misinterpreted to imply interference in Afghanistan’s internal affairs,” an FO statement said.

Workers jump to their deaths as Dhaka office block fire kills seven

DHAKA: (DNA) – Desperate workers leaped to their deaths, as a huge fire tore through a Dhaka office block on Thursday killing at least seven people and trapping others in the latest major inferno to hit the Bangladesh capital.Six people died after jumping from the 22-floor building while another victim suffered fatal burns, officials said.Emergency services said at least 65 people were being treated in hospitals.People were seen screaming for help as hundreds of panicked onlookers crowded the streets of the upmarket Banani commercial district.

Investiture ceremony held at Corps Headquarters Lahore

LAHORE, MAR 28 (DNA) – An investiture ceremony was held at Corps Headquarters Lahore today.Corps Commander Lahore Lieutenant General Majid Ehsan conferred military awards to Army personnel for acts of gallantry during operations, outstanding performances in respective fields and for their long meritorious services.Twenty-three officers were awarded SITARA-I-IMTIAZ (MILITARY), forty-eight officers were awarded TAMGHA-E-IMTIAZ (MILITARY) and fifteen officers and soldiers were awarded TAMGHA-E-BISALAT. Fake accounts case: IHC grants Zardari, Talpur pre-arrest bails

ISLAMABAD: (DNA) – The Islamabad High Court on Thursday granted pre-arrest bail to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders Asif Ali Zardari and Faryal Talpur in the case pertaining to money laundering of billions through fictitious bank accounts.PPP’s top leadership, Omni Group’s Anwar Majeed and his son Abdul Ghani Majeed, former Pakistan Stock Exchange chairperson Hussain Lawai, Summit Bank Senior Vice-President Taha Raza are among those being investigated in a case related to money laundering of billions through fictitious bank accounts. The matter is also being heard by the Supreme Court.
