Pakistan expresses concern over India’s anti-satellite weapon test

ISLAMABAD: (DNA) – Pakistan on  Wednesday expressed  concern  over   test of anti-satellite weapon   by India, urging the international community   not   to ignore the military dimension of such actions and its implications on the global and regional peace, stability and security.In a statement, foreign office said   Pakistan has noted with deep concern the assessment of relevant organizations and international experts on the threats resulting from space debris generated by the recently conducted Anti-Satellite weapon (ASAT) test by India.

Propaganda against Pakistan: Govt bans telecast of IPL matches

ISLAMABAD: (DNA) – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Fawad Chaudhry, on Tuesday announced that a ban has been imposed on the telecast of Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket matches in response to Indian propaganda carried out against Pakistan.The decision was taken in federal cabinet meeting after an ‘organised effort’ by India to harm cricket in Pakistan, Fawad Chaudhry said in a press conference here.He added that Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) will ensure implementation of the cabinet’s decision to stop telecast of the IPL matches on any TV channels in the country.

SC releases written verdict on taxes levied on mobile services

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) on Tuesday released its written verdict in a case pertaining to taxes charged by cellular service providers.On March 27, a two member-bench of the apex court comprising Justice Qazi Faez Isa and Justice Ijazul Ahsan presided over hearing and reserved the verdict.According to the verdict, the federal and provincial governments were directed to submit details of the tax collected on phone calls in the previous year.
