Sha’ban moon sighted in Pakistan

KARACHI:  (DNA) – The moon of the Islamic month of Sha’ban-ul-Muazzam has been sighted throughout the country on Saturday.This was announced by chairman Central Ruwait-e-Hilal Committee Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman.He said that the first of Sha’ban will fall on Sunday, April 7, 2019.

NAB summons Khawaja Asif on April 9

RAWALPINDI (DNA) – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi summoned former federal minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Asif in assets beyond means case on April 9.Sources reveal that NAB’s joint investigation team will record Khawaja Asif’s statement.It is pertinent to mention here that the anti-corruption watchdog has served a second notice to Khawaja Asif.Earlier, Khawaja Asif was issued summons for April 1, he could not attend the hearing on account of being overseas.

Hamza acts against PML-N’s slogan: Shehbaz Gill

ISLAMABAD, (DNA) : Spokesperson Punjab government Dr Shehbaz Gill said Pakistan Muslim League (PML) (Nawaz) leader Hamza Shehbaz should not breach the sanctity of Supreme Court and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) by trying to escape from the arrest on Saturday.The spokesman said Hamza’s reluctance to get arrested clearly demonstrated his lack of political wisdom and democratic attitude.He wondered how some channels of private media could undermine the position of Supreme Court as article 189,190 and 191 mentioned that Supreme court verdict could nullify the high court orders, adding, the supreme court had stated in its written verdict of March 27, that NAB was independent to arrest any alleged culprit of corruption, he added.

The First International Ziyarah Torusim Forum was held in Bukhara from Feb 21-23 in Bukhara in which hundreds of delegates participated from across the globe. The Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Aziz A. Abdukhakimov spoke during the inaugural session and said the event shall give a considerable boost to the tourism industry of Uzbekistan, especially the Ziyarah tourism.Delegates from over 34 countries including Pakistan attended the Forum. Despite being the first-ever forum of its kind, the platform provided the participants with an opportunity of having detailed information about the Ziyarah tourism potential of Uzbekistan.

Generally Muslims and Muslim countries are pretty backward in modern education, especially Science & Technology compared to the rest of the world? It’s not even about race or ethnicity, almost all Muslim countries lack in Science & Technology as compared to the West and other countries. Most of the inventions in Science and Technology are either by Christians or Jews. The mind boggling question here is that why are 1.7 billion Muslims lacking in this department? The abrupt answer is that most of Muslim countries do not have modern and well-equipped research centers nor do they attach any priority to that.

NAB calls in Rangers to arrest Hamza Shahbaz

LAHORE (DNA) – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Saturday has called in Rangers at Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif’s Model Town residence to arrest Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz for involvement in money laundering.According to details, a heavy contingent of police and other security forces has also been deployed to avoid any untoward situation. NAB officials said that Hamza Shahbaz will be arrested at any cost as they have strong evidence against him.

Saudi Arabia opens new Baghdad consulate, pledges $1bn in loans for Iraq

RIYADH:  (DNA) –  Saudi Arabia opened a new consulate in Baghdad on Thursday after announcing  $1 billion in loans for development projects in Iraq.Three more diplomatic branches are to be opened in other Iraqi cities soon, Saudi Arabia’s Commerce and Investment Minister Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qassabi saidSaudi Arabia and Iraq have moved to improve relations in recent months.  The Kingdom reopened its Baghdad embassy in 2016 after it was closed in 1991 in response to Saddam Hussein’s invasion of Kuwait.

NAB raids Shehbaz Sharif house to arrest Hamza

LAHORE, APR 05 (DNA) – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday has raided the residence of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif in Lahore to arrest Hamza.According to PML-N Spokesman, NAB conducted raid on house in Model Town without search warrants which is against the law.

Pakistan’s F-16 a ‘real threat’ to India: Abhinandan’s father

NEW DELHI: (DNA) – Simhakutty Varthaman, Indian air marshal (retd) and father of wing commander Abhinandan who was captured by Pakistan and  then released in a gesture of peace,  said that Pakistan’s F-16 and its AMRAAM missiles are a “real threat” to India.Speaking at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras on Wednesday, he said that   Pakistan’s F-16 purportedly deployed in a 27 February dogfight and its AMRAAM missiles were a ‘real threat’ to New Delhi, Indian media  reported.
