Pakistan supports efforts for peace in Afghanistan: FM Shah Mehmood

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has asserted on resolution of Afghanistan conflict through a comprehensive dialogue, and has urged all parties to express full determination to find a solution to peace.He propagated Pakistan’s stance over the matter, and maintained that “Pakistan believes in peaceful resolution of the Afghan conflict by talks” and that there is no military solution to deal with the issue.“Pakistan supports all efforts for peace with Afghan partners,” he said.

Corruption Cases: NAB decides to take services of lawyer Naeem Bukhari

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – In an important development in the corruption cases, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday decided to take services renowned lawyer Naeem Bukhari.In a declaration issued on Friday by the anti-graft watchdog, Naeem Bukhari will now see corruption cases against former Leader of Opposition in National Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif, former principal secretary to the prime minister Fawad Hassan Fawad and former Lahore Development Authority (LDA) director general Ahad Khan Cheema.The declaration further stated that the anti-graft agency’s Prosecution Division will assist Naeem Bukhari in the cases.

Bailout Package: IMF sets tough conditions for Pakistan

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Setting tough conditions for a bailout package, International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Friday demanded the government to give State Bank authority of decisions regarding dollar rate and make National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) independent.As per the details, for a bailout package, the IMF while demanding Pakistan for strict measures to increase tax income said that the target of tax should be fixed at Rs5000 billion.

Defamation suit: Meesha Shafi challenges LHC decision in SC

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Pakistani singer Meesha Shafi on Friday has challenged decision of Lahore High Court (LHC) in Supreme Court (SC) regarding defamation suit filed by singer and actor Ali Zafar.In a petition, the artist said that trial court had not allowed to defer questioning on the witnesses.Earlier, LHC had directed sessions court to conclude the defamation suit between Ali Zafar and Meesha Shafi within three months.

Foreign Secretary issues guidelines for Implementation of UNSC 1267 sanctions

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Guidelines for the Implementation of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC 1267) sanctions were launched today (Friday) at Ministry of Foreign Affairs The guidelines have been prepared by the National Committee for overseeing implementation of Sanctions against individuals and entities designated by the UN Security Council 1267 Al Qaida /Da’esh Sanctions regime and Security Council 1988 (Taliban Sanctions regime). A large number of representatives of the federal and provincial governments including those of financial institutions, law enforcement, and other implementing agencies attended the event. 

Nawaz reaches Sharif Medical City for check-up

LAHORE (DNA) – Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Friday reached Sharif Medical City to be examined by neurologists.The detailed check-up of the erstwhile premier will be done in the presence of his personal physician – Dr Adnan. The neurologists will conduct different tests to normalize the circulation of blood in his brain.It has been told that Nawaz Sharif’s health is in sensitive condition and he remains under observation of doctors at home despite not being admitted to the hospital.

Hamza Shahbaz appears before NAB in assets beyond income case

LAHORE (DNA) – Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz on Friday has appeared before National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in assets beyond income case. According to details, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader was directed to bring along complete record regarding his foreign account.The staff members of Hamza was barred from entering the office. On Wednesday, the Lahore High Court (LHC) had granted pre-arrest bail to Hamza Shahbaz till April 17 after he filed two separate petitions amid fear that the NAB may arrest him in the Saaf Pani and Ramzan Sugar Mills cases.
