Pakistan needs diplomatic push to clear FATF hurdle
ISLAMABAD: (DNA) – Pakistan has fairly met all conditions set by Financial Action Task Force (FATF) for second review but the authorities say Islamabad may not fully satisfy evaluators without launching a diplomatic offensive.In an in-camera briefing, the Ministry of Finance, National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) and State Bank of Pakistan have given a “satisfactory report” on implementation of 27-point FATF Action Plan to the National Assembly Standing Committee on Finance.The thrust of their briefing was that Pakistan has finally begun a journey on a path that leads to addressing the concerns of global bodies working to combating financing of terrorism and money laundering.

Japan extends financial support for child health care, security improvement
ISLAMABAD, APR 24 (DNA) – The Government of Japan has extended financial support of approximately 32 million USD to “The Project for the Extension of Intensive Care at Maternal and Child Health Care Centre and Children’s Hospital in Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS)” and approximately 17 million USD to “The Economic and Social Development Programme” for improvement of cargo inspection capacity for better security.

Soft bedding top cause of suffocation death for sleeping babies
Most sleep-related suffocation deaths among babies less than one year old happen because infants’ airways got blocked by things like pillows, blankets, couch cushions or adult mattresses, a US study suggests.Unintentional suffocation is the leading cause of injury and death among infants under age one in the US, researchers note in Pediatrics. For the study, researchers examined national registry data 1,812 cases of sudden unexpected infant death (SUID) between 2011 and 2014.
