The 23rd meeting of the Joint border Commission of the Islamic Republic of Iran-Pakistan starts today (Wednesday) with the participation of two parties delegations in the town of Quetta in the central Baluchistan province of southwest Pakistan.
Two houses of parliament convened on 24-hour notice
ISLAMABAD: In a move that took many by surprise, the government on Tuesday convened both houses of parliament to meet on a 24-hour notice.While the opposition appeared to be wondering as to what was the need for convening the sessions of parliament in such haste, the government said the decision had been taken to take the legislature into confidence over recent important developments.When contacted, former Senate chairman Raza Rabbani said he had failed to understand the reasons behind convening the sessions within 24 hours. He said in foggy weather many members from other cities would find it difficult to reach Islamabad in time.
Iran calls on US to quit destructive policies in region
Iran has called on the United States to abandon its destructive policies in the region as Tehran rejects Washington’s groundless accusation that the Islamic Republic is behind anti-US protests in Iraq.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi made the remark on Tuesday while commenting on the US administration pointing the finger of blame with no rhyme or reason at Iran for recent developments unfolded in Iraq in the aftermath of Washington’s military invasion of the Arab country as well as its interference in Iraq’s domestic affairs.
Pak arranges special PIA flight to bring back Pakistani illegal immigrants from Malaysia
ISLAMABAD, DEC 31 (DNA) – On the directives of the Government of Pakistan, a special PIA flight has been arranged to bring Pakistani illegal immigrants from Malaysia on Tuesday, 31 December 2019.The Government of Malaysia introduced a Back4good (B4G) Amnesty Scheme to facilitate voluntary repatriation to countries of origin starting from 1 August 2019 and ending on 31 December 2019.As a result of extensive efforts by the High Commission of Pakistan in Kuala Lumpur, over 8000 Pakistanis have returned home safely under this Amnesty Scheme, without facing detention or fines.

Russian FM says Western partners purposefully creating tension in Persian Gulf
Moscow, Dec 30, DNA – Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said here on Monday that he is confident that the Western partners are purposefully creating crisis and tension in the Persian Gulf, south of Iran.
Lavrov made the remarks in a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif who arrived in the Russian capital on Sunday night. In the meeting, Lavrov said Russia and Iran have already presented proposals on ensuring security and stability.
Production of electric cars to start in Fergana region in October 2022
Target list of investment projects for the development of industry, services and agricultural products processing in Margilan and Kokand cities of Fergana region in 2020-2022 has been announced.According to the document, the organization of production of electric cars by “Shaffof omadli sanoat” LLC is set for October 1, 2022.The production capacity of the plant is 2,000 electric cars a year. The total project cost is $40 million, including $24 million of foreign direct investment. Reportedly, the plant will create 300 jobs.

Tashkent, Uzbekistan – JV MAN AUTO-UZBEKISTAN transferred new MAN A22 bused to representatives of Islam Karimov Tashkent International Airport.New low-floor buses were purchased to improve passenger service. Buses manufactured by JV MAN Auto-Uzbekistan will now deliver passengers from the airport terminal directly to the aircraft and vice versa.MAN A22 buses with a length of 12 meters are produced on the basis of the MAN chassis. The low floor and the “tilt” system of the bus creates additional conveniences for passengers to enter and exit, and the air conditioning and heating system provides a comfortable temperature in the bus cabin all year round.
