ISLAMABAD, MAY 03 (DNA) – The Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI) organized a One-Day Seminar on “Evolving Regional Dynamics and Future of Pakistan-Russia Relations” in Islamabad, on Friday.Giving an overview of Pakistan-Russia’s bilateral relations in his Welcome Address at the one-day seminar on “Evolving Regional Dynamics and Future of Pakistan-Russia Relations”, President of IPRI, Ambassador Vice Admiral (R) Khan Hasham Bin Saddique, outlined that the relationship has carried the baggage of realpolitik when both states pursued their divergent national interests, but “as the Cold war era ended, following a period of somewhat dormancy, both states re-established their relations at a basic level.”
Japan envoy hosts reception to mark enthronement of Emperor Naruhito

Pakistan Embassy in France woo French tourists to visit Pakistan
PARIS, MAY 03 (DNA) – Embassy of Pakistan to France in collaboration with leading French tour operator company Clio organized an outreach event yesterday as a part of its initiative to promote Pakistan as a preferred destination amongst French and European tourists. Foreign Minister visits Sri Lankan High Commission to offer condolences

SC dismisses Nawaz’s plea seeking permanent bail
ISLAMABAD: (DNA) – The Supreme Court (SC) on Friday dismissed a petition filed by ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif seeking permanent bail on medical grounds.A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa heard the case in Court Room no. 1.The court maintained that none of the doctors who examined the former premier had recommended that his treatment was only possible abroad.

ISLAMABAD: (DNA) – Prime Minister launched “Ehsaas” program, a social protection and poverty alleviation initiative , on March 27. The preliminary policy statement of the Ehsaas program was tweeted by the Prime Minister on April 8, 2019, which outlined Ehsaas’ 4 pillars and its 115 policy areas.Ehsaas is an extensive program and it is meant to be implemented through 20 federal ministries/divisions, 6 federal agencies involved in poverty alleviation and social protection, four provincial governments, AJK and GB.The newly created Division of Poverty Alleviation and Safety Nets is the coordinating agency of the Ehsaas program.

SC to hear Nawaz petition for bail extension today
ISLAMABAD (DNA) – A three-member bench of the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan will today (Friday) hear Nawaz Sharif’s petition seeking extension in the bail granted to him on medical grounds.The three-member bench headed Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Asif Saeed Khosa and also comprising Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and Justice Yahya Afridi will hear the case.Nawaz Sharif had filed a petition in the Supreme Court on April 30 which stated that a review petition had been filed in the Supreme Court on its March 26 decision. The petition sought an extension in Nawaz’s bail until a decision on the review petition.
Notification regarding office timings during Ramazan issued
ISLAMABAD (DNA) – The Establishment Division has issued notification regarding timings of Govt offices during the holy month of Ramazan.In the notification it was stated that Ramazan timings for the offices working five days a week would be 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM (from Monday to Thursday). On Friday, the timings would be from 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM.
