Paragon Housing scam: Saad Rafique, brother judicial remand extended till May 30
LAHORE (DNA)– An accountability court in Lahore on Thursday extended the judicial remand of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) leader and Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Khawaja Saad Rafique and his brother Salman Rafique till May 30 in the Paragon Housing Society case.Reportedly, Saad Rafique could not appear for the hearing today as his defense counsel informed the court that he is in Islamabad. However, his brother was produced in the court.Meanwhile, a heavy contingent of police was deployed around the court to prevent party workers from disrupting law and order situation during his appearance.On May 2, the court had extended their judicial remand till May 16 in the same case.
Indian troops martyr five youth in occupied Kashmir
SRINAGAR (DNA): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh acts of state terrorism martyred five Kashmiri youth in Pulwama and Baramulla districts.
The troops martyred three youth, Naseer Pandit, Umar Mir and Khalid Ahmed, and destroyed a residential house during a cordon and search operation (CASO) in Dalipora area of Pulwama district in wee hours, today. Another youth identified as Rayees Ahmed Dar was martyred and his brother, Younis Ahmed Dar, was injured in the firing of the troops in the area.
Peshawar: Doctors boycott OPDs after brawl with health minister
PESHAWAR (DNA) – The doctors have announced to boycott outpatient departments (OPDs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) after a brawl between KP Health Minister Dr Hisham Inamullah Khan, Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH)’s Board of Governors (BoG) Chairman Dr Nausherwan Khan Burki and doctors at the KTH, Dunya News reported on Wednesday.
High hopes as Kekra-1 wildcat well drilling completes near Karachi coast
KARACHI (DNA) – Offshore drilling, through a joint venture of four oil giants, near Karachi coast on Indus G-Block (Kekra-1) has been completed after four months of hard work.The process spudded the Kekra-1 well to the depth of 5,470 m at a cost of Rs14 billion.Currently, ExxonMobil, ENI, Oil and Gas Development Company, and Pakistan Petroleum Limited are conducting the drill stem test (DST) to determine the real size of the oil and gas reserves in the Kekra-1 well, located around 280 km away from Karachi.

Zardari seeks pre-arrest bail in Harish and Company case
ISLAMABAD (DNA News) – Former president Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday filed a pre-arrest bail application in the Islamabad High Court (IHC), seeking its directives for barring the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) from arresting him in an ongoing investigation into M/s Harish and Company scam.The Combined Investigation Team (CIT) of the NAB Rawalpindi has summoned Zardari on May 16 for recording his statement in the case.

Electricity suspended as rain, gusty winds trip Guddu power plant
