BAKU, FEB 09 –  February 9 is the day of the next elections to the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan.Turnout has been high at the polling station No 6 of Sabail constituency No 29 since early hours of Sunday.President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, first lady Mehriban Aliyeva and family members arrived at the polling station No 6.President Ilham Aliyev entered the voting booth and cast his ballot.

BAKU, FEB 09 – Elections to the Azerbaijani parliament has today kicked off on Sunday. Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov declared that the polling stations are open from 08:00 (GMT +4) for voting.The Information Center of the Secretariat of the Central Election Commission will inform about the voting process and provide preliminary data at 10:00, 12:00, 15:00, 17:00 and 19:00.As many as 1,314 candidates (21 percent female and 79 percent male candidates) were registered for the snap parliamentary elections.Around 246 people were nominated by 19 political parties, 1,057 were nominated individually and 11 were from initiative groups.

BAKU, FEB 08 –  Azerbaijan is a rapidly developing country. Azerbaijan has rich electoral experience, along with with significant success in various fields. I believe that Azerbaijan’s development would be accelerated after the parliamentary elections, political scientist working in Russia Ramin Gasimov told.“The parliamentary and presidential elections in Azerbaijan have so far been distinguished with transparency. Observations also show that elections are always organized professionally, characterized with transparency of the election process and its compliance with all rules and procedures”, Gasimov emphasized.

BAKU, FEB 8 (DNA) – Hikmat Hajiyev Assistant of the President of Azerbaijan and Head of Foreign Policy Affairs Department, office of the President of Azerbaijan has said Azerbaijan accords immense importance to its relations with brotherly country Pakistan adding his country was indebted to Pakistan for supporting Azerbaijan on Nagorno-Karabakh issue.

BAKU, FEB 07 –  Preparations for the February 9 parliamentary elections have been fully completed in Kurdamir constituency #57.The Constituency Election Commission told that 42 constituencies have been supplied with all necessary equipment, and all conditions created for voters to freely cast their ballots.Necessary measures have been taken to ensure holding this important campaign in a free and democratic manner in accordance with the Election Code.
