WELCOME–PRESIDENT RECEP TAYYIP ERDOGAN

Turkish President Honorable Recep Tayyip ERDOGAN is scheduled to arrive in Islamabad  on 13th February 2020, the first head of a state visiting Pakistan in 2020 on a two -day official visit to Pakistan along with high profile delegation.During his visit the Turkish President would hold bilateral talks with President and Prime Minister of Pakistan.The two countries are also likely to sign a number of bilateral agreements and MoUs during the visit to boost cooperation in different fields.President Erdogan will also meet leading political figures of Pakistan apart from attending various planned events and addressing the joint session of Senate & National Assembly on 14th February 2020.

Statement of the ministry of foreign affairs on early elections to Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan held on 9 February

We got acquainted with the preliminary findings and conclusions of the International Election Observation Mission (IEOM) consisting of OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on the early elections to the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

France provides 0.5 million euros grant to Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, FEB 11 (DNA) – Pervaiz Abbas, Secretary of Economic Affairs Division (EAD), Marc Barety, Ambassador of France, and Mr. Philippe Steinmetz, Country Director of the French Agency for Development (AFD), signed the Grant Financing Agreement worth Euros 0.5 million to finance technical assistance for capacity building of the Private Power and Infrastructure Board (PPIB) project – Ministry of Energy.

German envoy discusses matters of mutual interest with Chairman NAB

ISLAMABAD, FEB 11 (DNA) – Bernhard Schlagheck, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Pakistan called on Justice (RETD) Javed Iqbal, Chairman National Accountability Bureau at NAB Headquarters and discussed matters of mutual interest.Justice (RETD) Javed Iqbal, Chairman National Accountability Bureau at NAB apprised Bernhard Schlagheck, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany about NAB’s national Anti Corruption Strategy in order to eradicate corruption from Pakistan and remarkable efforts to nab the corrupt elements as per law.

European Commission publishes GSP report

ISLAMABAD, FEB 11 (DNA) – The European Commission – the European Union’s executive branch – published the Generalised Scheme of Preferences (GSP) report 2018-19 today. It is accompanied by an assessment of the GSP+ regime granted to Pakistan. The report will be debated and subject to a dedicated resolution by the European Parliament later this month.

Iran, Pakistan relations on an upward trajectory: Ambassador Hosseini

ISLAMABAD, FEB 11 (DNA) . Ambassador of Iran Mohammad Ali Hosseini has said relations between Iran and Pakistan in all fields are on an upward trajectory adding there existed huge potential between the two countries especially in trade.

The ambassador expressed these views on the occasion of anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Syed Ali Haider Zaidi, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs was the chief guest while Information Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan also attended the event.

Winning candidates eye a bright future for Azerbaijan

BAKU, FEB 10 (DNA)  The four candidates who won their seats in the recently held parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan said on Monday they were eying a bright and prospective future for their country for majority of the candidates who secured seats in the elections happened to be the youths.They hoped the new parliament will for sure work for the betterment of the people of the country adding the new parliament is expected to carry forward the reforms agenda with a view to extending all basic necessities of life to all and sundry.

Kyrgyz observer: No violations recorded during parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan

BAKU, FEB 10 –  The Kyrgyz observation mission did not record any violations while observing the voting process in the early parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan on Feb. 9, an international observer from Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Batyrbekov said at a press conference on the results of the elections.Expressing gratitude to the Azerbaijani Government for the conditions created for observing the elections, Batyrbekov said that he had observed the voting process in Baku, Shamakhi and Gobustan.

Russian observers: Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan embodied will of people

BAKU, FEB 10 – Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan were held at quite a high level, Russian MP from the “Yedinaya Rossiya” party Maksim Ivanov said at a press conference in Baku.“The positive changes that are taking place in Azerbaijan are clearly visible,” the MP said. “This includes creation of infrastructure, civil society, comfortable environment for people, and when we talked today with the residents of Baku, we heard people talking about those changes for the better.”Ivanov also expressed opinion that great future awaits Azerbaijan and Russia.

German observer: I was touched by voters from Nagorno Karabakh in Azerbaijan’s parliamentary elections

BAKU, FEB 10 —  The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict should be resolved with the assistance of the OSCE Minsk Group and other international organizations, German observer at the early parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan, Matthias Dornfeld, said at a press conference in Baku.Matthias Dornfeld wished an early resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.This issue should be resolved with the assistance of international organizations, because the people who lived in Nagorno-Karabakh want to return to their homeland, Dornfeld added.
