BAKU, FEB 12 – Azerbaijan has transformed geopolitical realities into geopolitical opportunities, Assistant of the President of Azerbaijan, Head of Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev said during The John Batchelor Show, reports Feb. 12.“In terms of political development Azerbaijan is a young democracy,” Hajiyev noted. “There is no perfect model of democracy. But Azerbaijan also takes into account the experience of our friends and partners, also taking the historical heritage of Azerbaijani people.”

Iran envoy calls for enhanced Iran-Pakistan cooperation

ISLAMABAD,  —  Mohammad Ali Hosseini made the remarks during a meeting with Pakistan-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group headed by Naveed Qamar at Parliament House on Wednesday.Pakistan-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group comprises of 137 members and it is the largest group in Pakistan’s National Assembly, the lower house of the Parliament.Ambassador Hosseini said that stronger parliamentary ties between Iran and Pakistan would help to remove hurdles in bilateral relations.

Number of foreigners visiting Azerbaijan increase in January

BAKU,  –  The number of foreign citizens who arrived in Azerbaijan in January 2020 increased by 35,000 people or 18.1 percent compared to January 2019, reaching 226,000 people, reports referring to the country’s State Tourism Agency on Feb. 12.The largest increase was observed among visitors from Russia and Georgia. The number of citizens who arrived from Russia increased by 20.5 percent, amounting to 68,000 people, and from Georgia – by 8,000 people or 14.6 percent, amounting to 64,000 people.

Youth genuine asset of the country: President Alvi

Pakistan, Indonesian academic ties to be strengthened

Al-Sudais renamed as head of Haram Presidency for 4 years

RIYADH, FEB 11 – Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais has been named head of the Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques for another four years in the rank of a minister. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman issued a royal decree extending the service of Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, head of the Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, for another four years in the rank of a minister.Al-Sudais thanked the King and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman for the trust reposed in him, saying that the Presidency is receiving great attention from the rulers.

Turkish President Honorable Recep Tayyip ERDOGAN is scheduled to arrive in Islamabad  on 13th February 2020, the first head of a state visiting Pakistan in 2020 on a two -day official visit to Pakistan along with high profile delegation.During his visit the Turkish President would hold bilateral talks with President and Prime Minister of Pakistan.The two countries are also likely to sign a number of bilateral agreements and MoUs during the visit to boost cooperation in different fields.President Erdogan will also meet leading political figures of Pakistan apart from attending various planned events and addressing the joint session of Senate & National Assembly on 14th February 2020.

France provides 0.5 million euros grant to Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, FEB 11 (DNA) – Pervaiz Abbas, Secretary of Economic Affairs Division (EAD), Marc Barety, Ambassador of France, and Mr. Philippe Steinmetz, Country Director of the French Agency for Development (AFD), signed the Grant Financing Agreement worth Euros 0.5 million to finance technical assistance for capacity building of the Private Power and Infrastructure Board (PPIB) project – Ministry of Energy.
