ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Thursday strongly responded to the opposition parties – which gathered yesterday on a multiparty moot to devise a joint strategy against the government – for opposing the recently-formed Commission of Inquiry formed by the government to probe the utilisation of foreign debts by the two previous governments in the last decade.

RAWALPINDI, (DNA) – The Azerbaijan’s Armed Forces Day was celebrated at Joint Staff Head Quarters (JSHQ) of Pakistan Army in Rawalpindi on Thursday.In this regard, a “Ceremony of Friendship Day of the Armed Forces” was held at the JSHQ for the first time.The Azerbaijani Armed Forces Officers and the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan Ali Fikrat Oglu Alizada also participated in the Ceremony along with the generals & staff officers of the JSHQ.

ISLAMABAD, JUN 26 (DNA) – Pakistan’s envoy to the United Nations Dr Maleeha Lodhi on Wednesday said Pakistan firmly remains committed to Two State Solution of the Palestine dispute and rejects the shifting US position on the issue.The Permanent Representative to the UN in New York Dr Lodhi was speaking via video at a round table conference organized by Islamabad Policy Institute (IPI) on ‘Palestine: Deal of the Century & Two State Solution’.

ISLAMABAD, JUN 26 (DNA) – Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has said that he will visit Pakistan on June 27 in an effort to improve bilateral relations that are often hampered by mistrust and reciprocal accusations.President Ghani will be accompanied by a high-level delegation including Ministers, Advisors, Senior Officials and businessmen.During the visit, President Arif Alvi will have a meeting with President Ghani while Prime Minister Imran Khan will hold delegation-level talks.

QUETTA (DNA) – Three suicide bombers were killed and a policeman was martyred and two other officers sustained critical wounds as security forces successfully repulsed an attack in the Police Lines area in Balochistan’s Loralai on Wednesday morning.The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General (DG) Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor said in a press release on the incident that confirmed that three bombers were attempting to target Police Lines in Loralai.

NEW YORK (DNA) – Pakistan’s Permanent Ambassador to the United Nations Maleeha Lodhi on Wednesday said that Pakistan has announced a commitment of financial support to United Nations agency that assists Palestinian refugees.Addressing a conference held in New York, Lodhi said that Pakistan reaffirms its dedication to the Palestinian cause at the 2019 pledging conference. She said Pakistan backed the UN chief’s call and would make a voluntary contribution to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine.

Its approval process will be completed along finance bill.According to the sources, the provincial budget was approved without any ruckus in the Assembly whereas total finance bill was also approved in the meeting.After the approval of finance bill, the discussion on the sub-budget bill will start.
