From 2021, ID cards to be issued instead of a biometric passport in Uzbekistan
TASHKENT, MAR 8 – As part of the implementation of previously adopted decisions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on modernization of the existing biometric passport system of the country, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution “On measures to introduce a registration system and issuing identification ID cards in the Republic of Uzbekistan” on 6 March. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan.
‘Blacklisted’ PTM leaders stopped from leaving country
ISLAMABAD, Mar 08 (DNA): Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has stopped‘blacklisted’ Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) leaders Mohsin Dawar andAli Wazir to leave for Kabul.The action was taken by FIA officials at Islamabad InternationalAirlines where the PTM leaders, Mohsin Dawar and Ali Wazir, were readyto depart for Afghanistan’s capital Kabul through a foreign airlineflight, RQ-928.Dawar and Wazir have been offloaded from the flight due to the inclusionof their names in the blacklist and exit control list (ECL). Sourcessaid that the leaders engaged in a verbal fight with the FIA staffmembers at the airport.
