Will there be a lasting peace in Afghanistan?

It is considered that future of South Asia is bright in all respects and Afghan people can only cash in on this opportunity only when they are united. One belt one road  vision introduced by China is also knocking at the door of Afghanistan therefore it is up to the Afghan government and people of Afghanistan to try to seize this moment before it gets too late. Stability in Afghanistan is a must for stability in the region. Let us hope peace shall soon return of Afghanistan.

Pakistan terms elections in occupied Nagorno Karabakh illegal

ISLAMABAD, APR 9 (DNA) – Pakistan has termed elections in occupied Nagorno Karabakh illegal. Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Aisha Farooqui expressed these views during a press briefing on Thursday.The Presidential and Parliamentary elections held on 31 March 2020 in Nagorno-Karabakh, occupied territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, is a clear violation of international norms.The election constitutes a clear breach of international law and UN Security Council resolutions. It is taken as an attempt by Armenia to hamper the ongoing negotiation process for finding lasting solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict through peaceful means.

Turkish Ambassador distributes ration among poor people

RAWALPINDI, APR 9 (DNA) – Keeping in view the problems of poor masses facing shortage of food amid lockdown due to Corona virus outbreak Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has finalized its arrangements for distributing ration bags among impoverished masses in the city here today.In this regard, Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul, Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Cap (R) Anwarul Haq, Chairman RDA Tariq Mehmood Murtaza, Director Admin and Finance RDA Khalid Javed Goraya, Secretary Turkish NGO IHH-NL Ikhlaqur Rahman and others attended it. It started with the recitation of The Holy Quran.

EU continues to push for cease-fire in Afghanistan

KABUL –  The EU Delegation in agreement with EU Heads of Mission based in Kabul have called for an immediate implementation of a comprehensive and nation-wide humanitarian ceasefire in Afghanistan, in line with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres´ appeal for a stop to armed conflicts.The COVID-19 pandemic is threatening all Afghans alike, women and men, young and elderly. As the outbreak grows in the next days and weeks, strong safety measures are needed to protect lives at risk.  Continued fighting would make it very difficult to contain the deadly disease, provide medical assistance and distribute international aid, the EU mission said in a statement on Wednesday.

China’s huge support to Pakistan combating COVID-19 continues

ISLAMABAD, APR 9 (DNA) – China reassured that its huge support to Pakistan will continue and there will be no shortage of medical equipment to combat COVID-19, reports Gwadar Pro App on Thursday.Chinese ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing said that “it is Pakistan that China has launched most aids to control the deadly vitrus.” Likewise, the National Disaster Management Authority informed that China made a huge contribution in medical relief assistance to Pakistan amid the pandemic outbreak and China made 80% of the total aid Pakistan has received so far.

Pakistan Army shoots down Indian quadcopter: ISPR

ISLAMABAD, APR 9  – The Pakistan Army on Thursday has shot down an Indian ‘spy drone’ along the Line of Control (LoC) for violating airspace, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed.According to details, the drone intruded six hundred meters inside Pakistan’s territory for spying. Such kinds of moves from Indian authorities are open violation of established norms and existing air agreements, the military wing stated.The ISPR also called the incident as violation of 2003 ceasefire agreement.

ICCI calls for early bailout package for SMEs

ISLAMABAD, APR 8 (DNA) – The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) has called upon the government to finalize a bailout package for coronavirus-hit SMEs at the earliest in order to save them from default and extinction.Ahmed Waheed, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that due to Covid-19, business and industrial firms were closed for the last one month due to which business activities were on the verge of destruction.

Nigerian man arrested for defrauding people in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, APR 8 (DNA) – A Nigerian national was arrested on Wednesday for defrauding people in a fake coronavirus fund scheme in Islamabad, according to the Federal Investigation Agency.The suspect approached people on social media platforms such as Facebook and then became friends with them. “He then took their account numbers and took money out of that,” FIA spokesperson said.He tricked residents by telling them that he will send them funds for the coronavirus, the spokesperson added.
