Shan Masood laments Pakistan’s inability to produce outstanding openers

Pakistan batsman Shan Masood has said that the side has to be patient with defeats if they are to produce good opening batsmen.“We need to be patient after suffering defeats if we are to head in the right direction in terms of producing opening batsmen,” Shan said as quoted. “We tend to concentrate on things that happen in the short-term and remain hopeful for instant results at the same time. Players cannot be made through this formula. They need to be given some time.”

Pakistan ranked 4th Generation Regulator by ITU

Pakistan has been ranked as a 4th Generation Regulator (G4) by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and has become the only country in South Asia to have achieved this goalpost. Out of 38 economies in the Asia Pacific, only 8% of states have managed to achieve G4 status.According to ITU’s report “Global ICT Regulatory Outlook 2020 (GIRO)”, Pakistan scored 88 out of 100 which means that Pakistan’s ICT regulations are led by economic and social policy goals, said a press release on Thursday.

Islamabad zoo animals in distress and pain: court

ISLAMABAD, APR 23 – The Islamabad High Court has decided to rehear the case against the condition of animals at the Marghazar Zoo on April 25.The conditions in which the animals are being kept at the Marghazar Zoo is “definitely causing distress and pain to them,” Chief Justice Athar Minallah said.”There is a lack of will on part of the federal government, the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad and the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board to take care of the exotic animal at the zoo”.

Pak’s biggest lab established at Karachi University for coronavirus tests: CM Murad

KARACHI APR 23 – Chief Minister of Sindh (CM) Murad Ali Shah on Thursday has said that Pakistan’s biggest laboratory has been established at Karachi University for the tests of coronavirus patients.

In a statement, the CM said that initially, the laboratory will conduct 800 tests on daily basis, however, the capacity will be increased to 2400 within three weeks.

It is to be mentioned here that Pakistan has reported 224 deaths from novel coronavirus while the total number of cases has surged to 10,513

4590 patients have been tested positive for the epidemic in Punjab, 3373 in Sindh, 1453 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 552 in Balochistan, 290 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 204 in Islamabad and 51 in Azad Kashmir.

So far, 2337 patients have recovered in the country.

Mahira Khan prays for Faisal Edhi’s recovery from coronavirus

KARACHI , APR 23 – Pakistani stunning actress Mahira Khan has prayed for the early recovery of social worker and head of Edhi Foundation, Faisal Edhi from coronavirus.The actress took to social-networking website and posted, “Prayers for #FaisalEdhi. May he recover soon .”It is to be mentioned here that Faisal Edhi was diagnosed with coronavirus after he got his test in Islamabad.  

Afghan FM thanks Pakistan for taking care of refugees

ISLAMABAD (DNA) –Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Tuesday called  Mohammed Haneef Atmar  acting Foreign Minister of Afghanitan to discuss bilateral counter-COVID-19, peace, security and economic cooperation.Afghan Foreign Minister said he thanked Pakistan government and people for extending emergency support to Afghan refugees and support for bilateral trade and transit.
