Kazakhstan hosts Nazarbayev Prize for Nuclear Weapon Free World and Global Security

NUR-SULTAN, Sept 2, (DNA) – The capital of Kazakhstan hosted the “Nazarbayev Prize for a World Without Nuclear Weapons and International Security” ceremony. The Prize laureates were Lassina Zerbo, Executive Secretary of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) Preparatory Commission, and former Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Yukiya Amano.Yukiya Amano passed away on July 18, 2019. To receive the Prize, members of his family arrived in Kazakhstan – widow Yukika Amano and brother, former Permanent Representative of Japan in Geneva, Marie Amano.

Tech making ‘our brains explode’ says star Penelope Cruz

VENICE (DNA) – Hollywood star Penelope Cruz warned Sunday that technology was driving high anxiety that would one day make “all our brains explode”.The Spanish mother-of-two said she was worried about how children’s mental health and development were being affected by the ubiquity of tech.”I have my personal war with it,” she told reporters at the Venice film festival.”I wish we could have lived in the 1990s for a little longer. Pakistan ready for ‘conditional’ bilateral talks with India: Qureshi

ISLAMABAD, AUG 31 (DNA): Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has offered initiation of ‘conditional’ dialogue with New Delhi during an interview with a foreign news agency.He maintained that Pakistan has no objection to holding bilateral talks with India; however any mediator facilitating the process of dialogue would be welcomed.The minister added that Pakistan has never refuted dialogue, but India has not been showing any sign of it.For holding bilateral talks, he put conditions, including revoking of curfew, restoration of basic human rights, release of all those arbitrarily detained (Hurriyat leadership) and his meeting with the Kashmiris’ leadership.

OIC asks India to immediately lift curfew in Occupied Kashmir

ISLAMABAD, August 31 (DNA): The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has demanded India to immediately lift curfew and restore communication services in Occupied Kashmir.“OIC has been following with concern developments in Jammu and Kashmir as a result of the unilateral decision taken by India on 5 August 2019 revoking Constitutional Article 370, thereby removing the special status of the Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir,” reads a press release.

UNSC has obligation to resolve decades-old Kashmir dispute: Maleeha
