LAHORE, MAY 01 (DNA) – Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator SirajulHaqhas said that the rulers were playing with fire by including the Qadyanis in the Minorities Commission as the nation would offer any sacrifice to protect the Khatam e Nubuwwat.

Addressing the Juma congregation at the Mansoora mosque, he said that the Qadyanis were rebels because they did not accept themselves as a minority as declared by the constitution.

“We will not accept a Commission with a  Qadyani member,” he declared. He said the nation would not spare the elements patronizing the Qadyanis in any manner. He said the JI would take up the issue in the Senate and the National Assembly, 

SirajulHaq said that before including the Qadyanis in the Minorities Commission and granting them the rights at par with the other minorities, the government should make the Qadyanisaccept themselves as a minority.

Stressing the need of the Islamic system in the country, SirajulHaq said that Islam did not simply believe in individual piety but called for evolving a system built on the Islamic teachings in every sphere of life.

He said the present system had given humanity nothing except exploitation and injustice and the JI wanted a system free from injustice, a system where in the poor could get equal opportunities for justice, education health, business and jobs.

It wanted the courts to decide cases in line withthe Shariah and an economy free from usury.  The JI is struggling for a social system wherein earning livelihood through Halal means was easy and Haram was difficult.

Meanwhile, the JI chief also visited the relief camp of the Al-=Khidmat Foundationat Gulshan e Ravi. He was accompanied by JI Lahore chief ZikrullahMujahid, Secretary General JI Youth Shahid Naveed Malik and JI Information Secretary Qaisar Sharif.

Talking tothe media on the occasion,SirajulHaqcommended the  Al_Khidmat and JI Youth volunteers for providing door to door ration including fresh vegetables to the deserving families affected by the lock down. He expressed the hope that these volunteers would continue their services with greater zeal and enthusiasm so that no household remained deprived of ration. Security plan to be strictly implemented during Ramazan

ISLAMABAD, MAY 01 (DNA) – Islamabad Saddar Police have been directed to ensure effective policing measures in their respective area and strict implementation on security plan to be made during Ramazan.

These directions were made by Superintendent of Police (Saddar) Sarfaraz Ahmed Virk while chairing a meeting attended by Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) and Station House Officers (SHOs) of police stations falling in Saddar Zone.

The meeting was held following directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar  khan and DIG (Operations) Waqar Uddin Syed. It was decided to make security at Masajid in the area more effective and implementation on SOPs issued by the government for faithfuls to be ensured.

The SP (Saddar) Sarfaraz Ahmed Virk directed to place plastic barriers instead of concrete barriers at police pickets in Saddar Zone which should have reflecting tape on them and warning boards, having instructions of reducing speed, should be fixed 100 meters before pickets.

He directed to complete investigation of pending cases and conduct meetings with complainants for getting information about the accused. He said that investigation cases should not exceed utpo 15 percent of registered cases and information about shifting accused to the lock up should be shared with other police stations and Crime Investigation Wing of Islamabad police.

The SP (Saddar) directed to immediately respond to the calls received from Rescue 15 and take strict action against hoax callers. He also directed all SHOs to complete the record of their police stations and present compliance certificates. He asked SDPOs to conduct meetings with complainants of high profile cases and arrange their meeting with him.

The SP (Saddar) checked the crime rate of various police stations and directed to constitute special squads for arrest of proclaimed offenders. He directed all SDPOs and SHOs to brief policemen themselves performing duties at police pickets.

The SP (Saddar) said that performance of investigation officers would be checked on continuous basis as per directions of DIG (Operations) Waqar Uddin Syed.  Those involved in dereliction of duties would have to face disciplinary action, he maintained.

He also asked for effective crackdown against drug pushers, bootleggers and professional beggars. The SP (Saddar) said that Islamabad police has policy of zero tolerance against corruption and decent attitude – Phele Salam- Phir Kalam – should be adopted during interaction with citizens. = DNA

ISLAMABAD, MAY 01 (DNA) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has advised the youth to read book “Lost Islamic History” by Firas Al Khateeb during lockdown days.

The Prime Minister said the book is an excellent brief history of the driving force that made Islamic civilization the greatest of its time and then the factors behind its decline.

“A great read for our youth during lockdown days. An excellent brief history of the driving force that made Islamic civilisation the greatest of its time and then the factors behind its decline,” PM Khan said in his tweets on Friday.

Besides, the prime minister shared a video of the World Economic Forum (WEF) showing Pakistani people planting trees and wrote: “Killing two birds with one stone: giving people employment as well planting trees.”

ISLAMABAD, May 1 :  National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Friday directed the Rural Support Programmes (RSPs) spread across various villages and districts of the country to enhance community mobilization for effectively containing COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

The NCOC, which met with Minister for Planning Development Reforms and Special Initiatives Asad Umar in chair closely observed the existing structure of RSPs in the country in its high level meeting organized on Labour Day.

The Centre noted that community mobilization was of utmost significance to cope with any pandemic or national crisis.  Public awareness/ education is important  in overcoming many critical issues,  during risk, Crisis communication and community engagement .

Keeping this in view, the NCOC has developed its community strategy and conducted data mapping of every nook and corner of the country. It was found through the data analysis that 67 percent population of the country lived in rural areas, 81 percent were using mobile phones, 78 percent watched television, 37 percent listened to radio where the statistics also included the social media usage.

The NCOC, in the light of this information developed four data groups comprising individual, family, society and community whereas based on these strata language medium was also devised for public awareness.

The forum had extensively mulled over community mobilization to ensure that smooth and prior information sharing was ensured to masses till date and after May 9.

The RSPs directed to come forward for playing its role in community mobilization were Agha Khan Rural Support Programme, Sarhad Rural Support Programme, National Rural Support Programme, Institute of Rural Management, Balochistan Rural Support Programme, Sindh Graduate Association and Sindh Rural Management. The network of these RSPs was based on 2,152 local support organizations, a total of 36,897 village organizations and 489,525 community support organizations. 

The national outreach of these support organizations was encompassing around 54 million people alongwith its network sprawling over 149 districts.

PM Imran Khan said government had put together a US$ 8 billion package to support the affected people and businesses. Steps taken by the government have helped in containing the spread of Coronavirus in Pakistan.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan spoke to Bill Gates, co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to discuss the latest developments surrounding the COVID-19 response.

During the conversation, the Prime Minister expressed appreciation for the support provided by the Gates Foundation and other international partners during this unprecedented crisis and emphasized the continued urgency of the situation.

Prime Minister Imran Khan stated that Pakistan was making all efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic with a robust and coordinated response. He emphasized that Pakistan was facing a dual challenge of overcoming the pandemic and saving people, particularly the most vulnerable segments of the population, from hunger due to lockdown. He underlined that the government had put together a US$ 8 billion package to support the affected people and businesses. Steps taken by the government have helped in containing the spread of Coronavirus in Pakistan. The Prime Minister’s call for “Global Initiative on Debt Relief” for the developing countries is in the same context.

Mr. Gates mentioned how COVID-19 was a threat across the world. He commended Pakistan’s efforts in protecting the lives and livelihoods of vulnerable populations.

Prime Minister Imran Khan and Bill Gates also discussed their shared priority of polio eradication. They discussed the important role that Pakistan’s polio staff and infrastructure are playing in the fight against COVID-19. The polio teams are supporting the training of frontline polio health workers on COVID-19, and using contact tracing, testing and communications methods to curb transmission. In the context of the Pandemic, they also discussed, that routine immunization programs for children especially polio vaccination cannot be ignored, as well as, the need for capacity enhancement of the National Institute of Health.
