Ahsan Khan gives shut up call to those bashing Ertugrul Gazi actors

LAHORE (Dna) – Pakistani actor Ahsan Khan has given a mouth-shutting reply to those criticizing lifestyles of artists working in Turkish drama Ertugral Gazi.

The actor took to Twitter and wrote, “I know people in Pakistan think its ok to troll actors here and judge them, at least spare the cast of Ertugrul.”

He added, “It’s bloody shameful what is going on! Who the hell are we to do this to them?”

The reaction came after Pakistani people slammed Ertugrul Gazi actress Esra Bilgic, who played Haleema in the serial, for donning western outfit while the lead actor Engin Altan was also criticized for holding a pet dog in his arms.

PCB names Babar Azam ODI captain, Sarfraz slips to Category B in central contract

LAHORE (Dna) – Naseem Shah and Iftikhar Ahmad were the two new faces in the 18-player men’s central contract list for the 2020-21 season, which will come into effect from 1 July, while the Pakistan Cricket Board also confirmed Azhar Ali as Test and Babar Azam as ODI and T20I captains for the period during which Pakistan is scheduled to play nine Tests, six ODIs and 20 T20Is, besides the Asia Cup and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020, said and official press release.

Naseem Shah became the youngest Test bowler in history to take a fifer and a hat-trick in consecutive Tests against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in Karachi and Rawalpindi, respectively. Iftikhar, who had the best average and strike rate in T20Is amongst the Pakistan batsmen, played two Tests, two ODIs and seven T20Is in the 2019-20 season.

Naseem’s bowling partner Shaheen Shah Afridi, who took the most Test wickets for Pakistan in the 2019-20 season, is one of the four players to get promotions.

Shaheen, following his 18 Test and two T20I wickets, has moved up in Category A, while Abid Ali (174 runs in three Tests and 74 runs in an ODI), Mohammad Rizwan (212 runs and 16 dismissals in five Tests, 50 runs and two dismissals in five T20Is) and Shan Masood (396 runs in five Tests) have been awarded Category B.

Furthermore, and as part of its commitment and strategy to reward high-performing young cricketers, the PCB has created a new Emerging Players’ Category, and the initial inductees are Haider Ali and fast bowlers Haris Rauf and Mohammad Hasnain.

Haider was a standout batsman for the Pakistan Emerging and U19 sides, whereas Haris and Hasnain showed their skill, prowess and utility in limited overs cricket.

In addition to the three and to further recognise players who have performed excellently in the 2019-20 season and/or are in and around the Pakistan men’s national team, the PCB are in the process of creating enhanced domestic contracts for the 2020-21 season so that they remained valued and motivated.

Hasan Ali, Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz have missed out on central contracts but will remain in contention for selection in what will be a busier cricket season as compared to the one that has just concluded, while Imam-ul-Haq, Sarfraz Ahmed and Yasir Shah have slipped one category each.

Pakistan men’s national team chief selector and head coach Misbah-ul-Haq said: “The philosophy and criteria for this merit-based central contract list was simple and straightforward: the selectors reviewed player performances in the past 12 months and then looked ahead to our team requirements in the forthcoming 12 months.

“I am thankful to the PCB Chairman for supporting our recommendation to give emerging player contracts to Haider, Haris and Hasnain. This is part of our forward-looking strategy and investing in the future, while also encouraging potential future national team players. I am sure this will motivate a number of youngsters in the 2020-21 domestic cricket to perform up to the expected level and earn such incentives.

“I want to congratulate Azhar Ali and Babar Azam for getting captaincy extensions. This is absolutely the right decision as they also require certainty and clarity on their future roles. I am sure they will now start looking to the future and start planning so that they can build sides that can perform at the expected levels.

“The selectors have made the tough decisions to leave out Amir, Hasan and Wahab but considering Hasan missed most of the season due to an injury and Amir and Wahab decided to focus on white-ball cricket, this was the right move. However, Amir and Wahab are senior and experienced bowlers and they remain in contention as we believe they can still contribute to the Pakistan men’s cricket team and also mentor our young battery of fast bowlers.

“Rizwan has been promoted to Category B after being a regular member of the side, while Sarfraz has been placed in Category B as he very much features in our future plans. We have some tough cricket lined up over the next 12 months where we will potentially require Sarfraz’s knowledge and experience.

“I am delighted for Naseem and Shaheen who have been well-rewarded for their outstanding performances. The two teenagers are the future of Pakistan cricket and I have no doubts that if they remain fit and stay focused, they will dominate world cricket for a long time. Their elevation is also a reward for bowling coach Waqar Younis, who has been working tirelessly on them, but there is still a long way to go for the duo and they have to perform consistently at big stages before they can put their cases of classifying them in the league of bowlers such as Waqar.

“In the list, we have a strong pool of batsmen and bowlers, which will allow us to strategically rotate our players and manage their workloads. In the meantime, the selectors will continue to keep an eye on the 2020-21 domestic cricket and if they feel strongly that someone needs to be fast tracked into the national side, then we will not hesitate in giving those top performers such opportunities.”

In the forthcoming season, Pakistan is scheduled to play two T20Is in Ireland (July), three Tests and three T20Is in England (July-September), three ODIs and three T20Is in South Africa (October), three ODIs and three T20Is at home against Zimbabwe (November), two tests and three T20Is in New Zealand (December), two Tests and three T20Is at home against South Africa (January 2021) and two Tests and three T20Is in Zimbabwe (April 2021).

In addition to these bilateral series, Pakistan will also feature in the Asia Cup T20 tournament and the ICC T20 Men’s World Cup 2020 in Australia.

Child abuse-the crime against humanity

SAHAR ZAREEN KHAN

Pakistan has a complex society structure which has multi dimensional issues. Over population, poverty, low literacy rate and a developing economy has given birth to many crimes in the society like extortion, human trafficking, Narcotics smuggling etc. But the most devastating part is the cruelty with children. This heinous crime of child abuse is a stigma at our country’s name. Nowadays whenever any newspaper or TV channel is opened there is news of baby girls or minor boys raped by a paedophile.

In recent years the ratio of such cases has horribly increased. In such incidents, some are relentlessly murdered with their body parts even mutilated. Some luckily survive but the trauma they face is so shattering that for the rest of their lives they are stuck in physical and psychological problems.

In sexual abuse, the health issues which they normally encounter are gastrointestinal disorders, gynecological disorders and somatization, while psychological and behavioral symptoms include anxiety, low self stem, PTSD, cognitive impairments, body image concerns, substance abuse, self harming and many other issues. The adult offenders target little kids because they are vulnerable. The criminals involved in such type of activities have got serious type of mental disease called pedophilia in which a person experiences a primary or exclusive sexual attraction towards children. But this disease is of such type that mostly it is unnoticed.

That’s the reason the in most of the cases, the offenders are either from close relatives or neighbours or acquaintances. In such type of fiduciary relationships it is very difficult to spot a pedophile. The best possible solution is to take care of your kids as it is the primal solution to save them. We need to develop a relationship with our kids which are more than a mere role of a parent or sibling. We need to educate our kids to make them realize that touching their private parts even just body touch with someone is something really serious. We need to make them understand to never allow anyone to have  physical contact with them, make them realise them that never respond to any stranger even the relatives who show extra love, care and sympathies to them and offer them chocolate or other stuff kids really love. We need to encourage them to trust us by being friendly and assure them that they are supposed to trust their parents only. We have to take precautionary measures and keep monitoring their daily routine. Just take care of your child because you definitely never want to lose them. We must remember that no authority or force can guard your kids. Only you who can save your child. We need to save our children from such evils as they are our future.

DUSHANBE, 12.05.2020. (DNA) – The Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population has assessed the country’s coronavirus situation as controlled. All commissions on COVID-19 prevention are working smoothly and efficiently at all levels, reports the ministry.

The government and the ministry have been taking all the necessary measures in the fight against the pandemic.  There is no shortage of medical masks and antiseptics in the country, as in some countries. All the protective clothing and masks are mainly produced in the republic.

Those infected with COVID-19 are receiving proper medical care, prices of medication in pharmacies is continually being regulated, explanatory work is likewise being carried out regularly, as are large-scale disinfection works, notes the ministry.

According to the ministry’s chief consultant on maternal and child health affairs Sherali Rahmatulloev, 90% of those infected with COVID-19 can be cured without taking medications, and most recover from it much like from the seasonal flu or SARS.

Sherali Rahmatulloev“Today there is no panic among the population, people try to live a measured life, complying with the recommendations of doctors. People have already realized the danger of the spread of coronavirus and most are wearing masks. Of course, despite all the preventive measures, unfortunately, there are those who neglect the generally accepted norms and rules of hygiene, and explanatory work will continue with them. People should understand that if sanitary standards are neglected, the disease will spread exponentially and become uncontrollable,” notes Rahmatulloev.

Because everything is being done in a timely manner, despite the claims of the opposite by some media outlets, Rahmatulloev expresses hope that the situation in Tajikistan will not be as critical as it has been in other countries.

Twelve days have passed since the official announcement of the first COVID-19 case. As of May 11, the number of cases has risen to 661.
