ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on National Security Dr Moeed Yusuf on Thursday rejected the impression that Pakistan has exported coronavirus to other countries.

Speaking at a media briefing at the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), he said the country has acted in the most responsible manner to prevent the spread of the highly contagious disease.

The SAPM said Pakistan conducted tests and quarantined several people over the past three months to ensure that they will not be a source of the virus spread abroad.  Only 30 people who had travelled to the UK from Pakistan tested positive for the infection, he added.“What is Pakistan’s fault if a person travels to the UK and tests positive on the seventh day of quarantine there,” he questioned, adding the government is trying hard to prevent affected people from travelling abroad.

He maintained that screening of passengers travelling abroad has been made mandatory.

Moeed Yusuf urged passengers to act responsibly and not travel if they have symptoms of COVID-19.

The country is keeping a close eye on inbound and outbound passengers to check the spread of the virus, he said.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Thursday welcomed the United Nations Security Council’s (UNSC) “strong condemnation” of a terrorist attack on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) in Karachi.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in a statement posted on his official Twitter account said: “Pakistan welcomes United Nations Security Council (UNSC) strong condemnation of attempted terrorist attack on #PakistanStockExchange.”

“Perpetrators, organisers & sponsors of such reprehensible acts must indeed be brought to justice. Terrorism most serious threat to regional & Int’l peace.”

The UN Security Council strongly condemned the “heinous and cowardly” terrorist attack – a move that India, according to government-run wire service, tried to block through its friends on the 15-member body, but failed.

“The members of the Security Council underlined the need to bring perpetrators, organizers, financiers and sponsors of these reprehensible acts of terrorism to justice and urged all States, in accordance with their obligations under international law and relevant Security Council resolutions, to cooperate actively with the Government of Pakistan and all other relevant authorities in this regard,” the Council said in a press statement.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Thursday condemned the continued brutalization of innocent Kashmiris by the Indian occupation forces in the Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Foreign Office Spokesperson, Aisha Farooqui, in a weekly news briefing said images of India’s brutalization were flashed across the world yesterday depicting the level of callousness and inhumanity meted out by Indian occupation forces.

She said the heart wrenching picture of the three-year-old boy in Sopore will forever remain seared in the imagination of all those who believe in humanity, human rights and fundamental freedoms.

India cannot wash away the truth by fake news and turning its propaganda machinery faster, she added.

The spokesperson said ceasefire violations along the Line of Control by Indian security forces continue unabated.

She said 1546 ceasefire violations in the first 6 months of 2020 have occurred, resulting in 14 martyrdoms and serious injuries to 114 innocent civilians.

Aisha Farooqui said Pakistan has categorically rejected the grant of domicile certificates in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir by the Indian authorities to reportedly 25,000 Indian nationals.

Aisha Farooqui said Pakistan has been consistently sensitizing the international community about the Indian leadership’s threatening statements to use terrorism as a tool to destabilize Pakistan.

“Pakistan has already shared with the international community, incriminating evidence about the Indian Intelligence Agency RAW’s involvement in terrorist activities in Pakistan,” the FO spokesperson added.

Islamabad, July 3 ( The 100MW Photovoltaic Power Station Project in Punjab that was put into production in 2015 has showed a consideration progress in recent year.

According to a report published by Gwadar Pro on Thursday, up to 2020 June 30th, this power station has safely operated for 5 years and provided more than 840 million kilowatt-hours of electricity.

This Pv power station is contracted to build by a Chinese company, TBEA. As stated by the Project manager, the Pv power station, built in Cholistan desert, Bahawalpur, Punjab Province, can provide about 0.5 million kwh maximumly of clean electricity per day and constantly work for 25years.

In order to build a high quality and high standard Pv power station, a series of advanced techniques, mature experience and machines were imported from China.

She said, “Pv power as a reliable, efficient, sustainable and low-cost electricity resource, can not only resolve the dearth of power in the nation, but also tackle other social issues such as employment and local stability.

The most important thing is that, establishing such a project has trained a group of professional people for Pv power.”

The manager portrayed a rosy future of Pv power cooperation between Pakistan and China. “For three respects we can foresee a potential in this sector,” she said.

“One of the factors is that China is capable to build advanced Pv power station. China already built several large scale Pv stations in Xinjiang region. The advanced experience provides efficient technical support for Pv power developing in Pakistan.”

“Meanwhile, Pakistan has suitable natural conditions to develop Pv power,” she said, “the adequate solar resource and flat terrain in a large area in Sindh, Punjab, KPK and Balochistan gives a great potential to build Pv power station.”

“The last positive factor is policy support. Under CPEC project, both Chinese government and Pakistan government provide favorable measures to facilitate Pv power station project developing in Pakistan.

According to a new energy planning target released previously, the share of new energy in the domestic energy mix will reach 20% by 2025 and 30% by 2030.” She said.

LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned former foreign minister and Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Asif tomorrow in a case pertaining to alleged corruption in the Sialkot housing society.

The anti-graft watchdog directed him to appear on July 3 (Friday) along with relevant documents.

The PML-N leader on June 26 had skipped NAB appearance in the Kent View Housing Society case. A lawyer appeared before the bureau on behalf of the PML-N leader stating that his client can’t appear today because he will be attending a post-budget session in the National Assembly. He submitted the relevant documents to the NAB.

The former federal minister has been accused of illegally building a private housing scheme, Kent View Housing Society, in Sialkot. He is required to provide the money trail of the funds invested in the scheme.
Last year in March, he was summoned by the NAB to record his statement in connection with its probe into a complaint against him for allegedly accumulating assets beyond known sources of income.

The bureau had asked Khawaja Muhammad Asif to bring the relevant record of the assets he owns in the country and abroad. The Executive Board of the NAB had approved an inquiry against him last year.
