ISLAMABAD, AUG 8 /DNA/ – A delegation from Afghanistan visited Islamabad in connection with the reported complaint of daughter of the Ambassador of Afghanistan to Pakistan of 16 July 2021. During the visit, the delegation met with the officials of law-enforcement agencies and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The delegation was given a comprehensive briefing on all aspects of investigation conducted by the relevant Pakistani authorities in the reported incident. They were also taken to the Safe City Office, Islamabad, where they were shown several video footages from various locations of different timings in which the complainant was clearly identifiable moving around the places independently. An on-site visit of all the locations visited by the complainant was arranged for the delegation, followed by presentation of technical data (findings of mobile forensic/geo fencing) as well.

The delegation was conveyed that law-enforcement agencies had carried out detailed and thorough investigation in the complaint and a comprehensive witness account led to the conclusion that the findings on the ground did not corroborate the report by the complainant. This was further substantiated by the technical evidence.

On certain aspects of the case, the relevant Pakistani authorities reiterated the earlier request for provision of additional information, and access to evidence and the complainant.

The delegation was also informed of the measures taken for enhanced security of the Embassy of Afghanistan in Islamabad and its Consulates.

Pakistan attaches high importance to its relations with Afghanistan. At this critical juncture in the Afghan peace process, it is extremely important to work jointly for the shared objective of a peaceful, stable and prosperous Afghanistan. Pakistan hopes that the Embassy of Afghanistan in Islamabad would soon resume its normal operations.

ISLAMABAD, AUG 8 /DNA/ – Terrorists from inside Afgnaistan across the international border, opened fire on a Pakistan military post in Dewagar, North Waziristan District. Pakistan Army troops responded in a befitting manner. During exchange of fire, 1 soldier got injured.

Pakistan has consistently been requesting Afghanistan to ensure  effective border management. Pakistan strongly condemns the use of Afghan soil by terrorists for activities against Pakistan.

Karachi, /DNA/ – The Sindh Government has decided to resume the examination process of Intermediate students across the province from Tuesday, 10th August 2021. The respective educational boards will issue the exam timetables shortly.
This was decided by the meeting jointly chaired by the Minister for Education and Culture Syed Sardar Ali Shah, and the Minister Universities and Boards Mr. Ismail Rahu here at the office of Minister Culture, Karachi.
The Chairmen of educational boards i.e. Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Larkana, Sukkur, and Shaheed Benazirabad participated in the meeting while Secretary Home Kazi Shahid Parvez was on the video link. The Secretary Colleges Syed Khalid Hyder Shah and Secretary Universities Mr. Mansoor Rizvi were also present in the meeting.  
The Chairmen of all the educational boards unanimously expressed their preparedness to resume the examination process from 10th Aug 2021. They told the meeting that hardly two to three papers were remaining of class XII, whereas the exam of class XI will be conducted after the 10th of Muharram and the supplementary exams will follow thereafter. They will circulate their respective exams schedules by the evening today.
Addressing the meeting, Minister Education said that the strict measure to be taken for the implementation of the Government SOPs against the spread of CoviD-19. All the examination centers would be ensured that the students are having face masks, and are using sanitizers frequently.
He further said that strict vigilance should be ensured against the issue of cheating during examinations, and whosoever is found in malpractice must be dealt with according to the department rules. He said that no student or the invigilator be allowed to carry mobile phones in the examination centers. The prohibition on the use of mobile phones strictly is followed.
The Minister for Universities and Board Mr. Ismail Rahu, while addressing the meeting, directed the Chairmen Boards that it should be ensured that no student is left un-examined, or grieved because of non-conduction of their exams. “The seats of students be placed keeping in view the SOPs and social distancing”, he said.
Both the Ministers, while addressing the media after the meeting, categorically said that section 144 of the PPC would be enforced in the vicinity of Examination centers and any person found involved in the cheating process would be dealt with iron hands.
Addressing a question from the media, the Minister Education Syed Sardar Ali Shah said that the CoviD-19 is on the rise in the city, and the situation after the 10th of Muharram would be decisive for the opening of the educational institutes in the province. He said that all educational institutions are closed till 19th August 2021, and afterward the the decision for their opening would be taken according to the guidelines from NCOC and the situation on-ground after the Aashura.
Replying to another question he said that he had tried to formulate a roadmap with the consultation of civil society, and now efforts would be taken to implement that road map for the improvement in the education of Sindh.

SIALKOT, Aug 08 :The district police registered cases against nine shopkeepers for selling food items at excessive rates.

According to a spokesperson, the district police conducted raids on the report of special magistrates and found 12 shopkeepers — Muhammad Akhtar, Azam Khan, Qasim Raza, Muhammad Jamil, Zulfiqar, Mansha, Aqib, Amaan and Karamat Ali — selling substandard meat, chicken, milk, yogurt and other food items at exorbitant rates.

The police registered cases against them.

ISLAMABAD, AUG 8 /DNA/ – The Building Control Authority Department of the Capital Development Authority has received 38 million 362 thousand and 612 rupees in July 2021 this year.

According to the details, the CDA’s Building Control Authority Department  released 11 completion certificate to residential buildings in July after completion and thorough inspection in which 716,387 rupees was received, as well as two commercial buildings in 7230,790 rupees, for approval of eleven residential buildings in 150,150 rupees, in addition 29,274,925 rupees received for issuing NOC to 33 commercial buildings, In the matter of issuing NOC to residential buildings 990,360 rupees was received from the owners and developers. It should be clear that in the month of July 2021 CDA’s building control authority department  Received 38 million 362 thousand and 612 rupees for issuing certificates and NOC’s to different owners and developers.

ISLAMABAD, AUG 8 /DNA/ – Allama Iqbal Open University is celebrating August as independence month and there would be an awareness walk, dialogues, national song and essay competitions, speeches, baitbazi, painting, tree planting, flag hoisting, cake cutting, and other events.

 VC, AIOU, Prof. Dr. Zia Ul-Qayyum said that a single day is not enough to celebrate independence, we will hold celebrations for a whole month, we will explain the meaning of freedom to the new generation.

According to Director Student Affairs, Rana Tariq Javed, a schedule of events for the entire month has been prepared and today Vice Chancellor, AIOU, Deans, Principal Officers, faculty, and students will participate in the awareness walk.  On August 10, Prof. Dr. Aslam Syed will give a special lecture to encourage the new generation to follow in the footsteps of their ancestors. There will be a national song competition on August 11 and students from AIOU and other institutions will participate in it.

 There would be a tree plantation drive on August 12.  As per government directives, the flag hoisting and cake cutting ceremony will be held on 14th August. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Chawla will give a special lecture on “Independence Day” on August 16. There will be a speech competition for students of AIOU and other educational institutions of Islamabad / Rawalpindi. On August 19, there would be a Baitbazi competition among students on Tehreek-e-Pakistan organized by Urdu Department and Iqbaliyat Department. On August 26, there will be a painting competition.

The prize distribution ceremony of the essay writing competition will be held on August 30.  It is pertinent to mention here that in each competition, 5,000 cash prizes will be given to the first place winner, 3,000 to the second place and 2,000 to the third place.

 In addition, to keep alive the memory of the unparalleled sacrifices made for the sake of Pakistan, to make the beloved homeland a truly Islamic and welfare state and to inspire the new generation to follow in the footsteps of their elders for the development of the country. 

Allama Iqbal Open University is also organizing nationwide celebrations on the occasion of the 71st Independence Day of its beloved homeland through its regional offices in various important cities of the country.=DNA
