Shehbaz Sharif says govt is taking heavy toll on people

KARACHI: PML N President and leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Mian Shehbaz Sharif has criticized PTI government for abnormal price hike and increasing law and order situation in the country. Flanked by PDM Chief Maulana Fazl ur Rehman, Shehbaz Sharif said PDM will launch a long march towards Islamabad in order to register protest against price hike.
The PML-N president was talking about the problems being faced by the people of Karachi during a meeting with a delegation comprising his party workers, leaders, and local people hailing from Karachi’s NA-249 constituency.
During his speech, Shehbaz got emotional and said that Karachi had been receiving a “step-motherly treatment,” from the Centre, adding that the entire country’s development is linked with that of Karachi.
“If given a chance in the next election, the PML-N will change the fate of Karachi,” vowed Shehbaz, adding that the PML-N will solve all the problems of the port city.
PAKISTAN REJECTS INDIAN DEFENCE MINISTER’S BASELESS ALLEGATIONS
ISLAMABAD, AUG 29 /DNA/ – Pakistan categorically rejected Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s terrorism-related allegations against Pakistan as completely baseless.
Pakistan has shared incontrovertible evidence with the international community of India‘s state sponsorship of terrorism and subversion against Pakistan. India uses terrorism as an instrument of state policy. This year alone, India has been involved in terrorist attacks in Johar Town, Lahore and against Chinese and Pakistani workers at Dasu.
The ruling BJP-RSS combine has a clear anti-Muslim and anti-minority agenda. They target Pakistan with false propaganda campaigns for both ideological reasons and political expediency.
India’s so-called “surgical strikes” and ill-conceived misadventure in Balakot in February 2019 were exposed as based on nothing but lies and deceit. Pakistan restored the strategic balance in the region by retaliating against India in a measured and firm manner.
The February 2021 reaffirming of 2003 ceasefire understanding only demonstrated that Pakistan is a responsible State that wants to maintain peace in the region despite irresponsible Indian behavior. Our desire for peace notwithstanding, Pakistan will resolutely defend itself against any aggressive Indian designs.

He told that chief minister is taking keen interest in the development of south Waziristan and in this connection ,he had spread the network of roads and health centers.
He told that for the first time, chief minister has recruited medical staff including doctors and paramedical staffs in outnumber to provide best health facilities to the public of South Waziristan and other merged areas. UK records 61 COVID deaths and 33,196 cases
LONDON: Britain recorded a further 61 COVID deaths and 33,196 more cases on Sunday, official data showed.
Infections in the last seven days rose by 5.8% on the week before, and weekly deaths jumped by 16%. The Sunday figure for fatalities tends to be lower than weekdays due to a delay by some hospitals in reporting deaths.
Britain has recorded an average of 114 daily deaths in the last week.
Taliban leader Akhundzada reportedly in Kandahar, Afghanistan
Taliban leader Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada is reportedly in Kandahar, southern Afghanistan. According to local Ariana News, Akhundzada has been in Kandahar for four days.
Citing sources close to Akhundzada, the report said the insurgents’ chief met with the top Taliban figures in Kandahar about the future of Afghanistan and the new government to be established in the war-weary country.
Earlier, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said the Taliban leader would appear in public soon.
After the Taliban seized the capital Kabul, some of the group’s leaders in Qatar went to Kandahar.
WHO IS AKHUNDZADA?
Akhundzada was appointed as the Taliban chief on May 25, 2016 after his predecessor Mullah Akhtar Mansour was killed in a US drone attack.
He taught religion and preached in a village near Pakistan’s border with Afghanistan for 15 years until he disappeared in May 2016.
There is only one widely circulated photograph of Akhundzada released by the Taliban. He previously served as the chief judge of the group’s judicial system.
The Taliban seized control of most of Afghanistan after lightning advances that included the capital, Kabul, on Aug. 15, forcing former President Ashraf Ghani and top officials to leave the country.
Compounding the already-escalating international crisis, two suicide bombers detonated bombs outside the Kabul airport on Thursday, killing at least 170 people.
The ISIS-K terrorist group, the Afghan affiliate of Daesh/ISIS, claimed responsibility for the attack.

RAWALPINDI, AUG 29 /DNA/ – Terrorists from inside Afghanistan across the international border, opened fire on a military post in Bajaur District. Pakistan Army troops responded in a befitting manner. As per intelligence reports, due to fire of Pakistan army troops, 2-3 terrorists got killed and 3-4 terrorists got injured. In exchange of fire, Sepoy Jamal (resident of Mardan, age 28 years) & Sepoy Ayaz (resident of Chitral age 21 years) embraced shahadat. Pakistan strongly condemns the use of Afghan soil by terrorists for activities against Pakistan and expects that existing and future setup in Afghanistan will not allow such activities against Pakistan.
Minal Khan, Ahsan Mohsin share their wedding invite
Actors Minal Khan and Ahsan Mohsin have shared their wedding invite on social media. The nikkah ceremony has been scheduled for September 10, but the venue of the event is still to be revealed. Both actors shared a picture of their wedding card on Instagram.

EU WANTS TO ATTACH CONDITIONS FOR BORDER PROTECTION AID IN GREECE
The European Commission plans to make further financial support to protect the European Union’s external borders in Greece conditional on protecting human rights, said a commissioner.
“We have said that such a payment should be linked to the establishment of a mechanism to monitor fundamental rights,” European Commissioner for Internal Affairs Ylva Johansson told Der Spiegel news magazine.
She said a working group had been established and that progress was expected in this area.
Greek border guards have repeatedly been accused of illegally pushing back migrants who try to reach the country by crossing the Mediterranean, sending them back to Turkey.
The Greek government denies that illegal pushbacks are taking place.
At the height of the refugee crisis six years ago, more than 850,000 migrants crossed the Mediterranean from Turkey into Greece – and the European Union – within the space of a year, with many fleeing war and poverty in the Middle East.
Only 1,800 people have reached Greece by boat this year, according to the UN Refugee Agency’s data up to August 22.
Some 45 per cent of those fleeing were from Afghanistan, according to recent figures.
UAE RESUMES TOURISTS’ VISAS

ABU DHABI: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will resume issuing tourist visas to people who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 from all countries from August 30 (tomorrow).
The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) and the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) Saturday jointly announced the decision.
The decision includes countries for which entry was previously banned. Tourists will also need to do a mandatory rapid PCR test at the airport, with the previous requirements remaining valid for non-vaccinated groups.
In addition, fully vaccinated tourists can also register their vaccination certificates through the ICA platform or Al Hosn App to enjoy the advantages granted to vaccinated people.
This move comes in line with the UAE’s strategy aiming to create a balance between public health and various vital sectors and will support national efforts to achieve sustainable recovery and revive the economic sector.
