LONDON, SEPT 26 (DNA) – The Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industries & Pakistan Britain Business Council signed an MOU to boost trade ties between Pakistan and UK. The MOU was signed between Mr. Ishtiaq Baig , Vice President FPCCI & Mr. Julian Hamilton, Chairman Pakistan Britain Business Consul at a networking reception organized by Pakistan High Commission, London attended by Mr. Ibne Abbas High Commissioner of Pakistan to UK, Mr. Zahid Hafiz, Deputy High Commissioner, Mr. Rehman Chisti UK Trade Envoy, CEOs and Directors of Leading Pakistani and British companies beside London Chamber, Mayor of London Office, London Stock Exchange, Standard Chartered, Marks & Spencer, Debenhams, UK Department of International Trade (DIT), UBL and HBL.
Newly appointed UK’s Trade Envoy for Pakistan Rehman Chisti, MP also attended and witnessed the signing MoU ceremony the bilateral trade between both countries stands $2.6 Billion but there are potential to enhance.
A high level 30 member’s business delegation of FPCCI led by Mr. Ishtiaq Baig, Vice President, FPCCI is currently visiting various cities of the UK and meeting with local businesses to explore the potential of increasing the bilateral trade between two countries.
The UK-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce also organized a reception in honor of the FPCCI delegation and held B to B meeting with between members. A
MoU is also signed by Ch. M. Sadeeq President UKPCCI and Mr. Ishtiaq Baig Vice President FPCCI to exchange of business delegations and to increase the bilateral trade between two countries. A lunch was also hosted by Pakistani origin businessmen Sir Anwar Parviz of Bestway Group in honor of the visiting group. The delegation will also be visiting Manchester and Glass co and will have meetings with their chambers and the businessmen.
