Indonesian envoy keen to promote educational links with Pak institutions

LAHORE: Adam M. Tugio, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Pakistan visited University of the Punjab, Lahore. During his visit to the University of the Punjab, H.E Tugio had a meeting with Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem Mazhar, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, University of the Punjab, Lahore. The meeting was also attended by Brigadier Mansoor Saeed (Retd), Senior Member Advisory Board, Center for Global & Strategic Studies (CGSS), Islamabad, Dr. Fozia Hadi Ali, Director, Regional Integration Center, University of the Punjab, and deans of different departments of the university.

During the meeting, H.E Adam Tugio expressed the resolve to promote the bilateral relations of Pakistan and Indonesia at various frontiers including academia, economy, culture, etc. Additionally, both H. E Tugio and Prof. Dr. Saleem Mazhar were keen on promoting academic linkages between the University of the Punjab and various universities of Indonesia in fields of mutual interest. Addressing the meeting, H. E Adam Tugio stressed the need for enhanced academic collaboration between the two countries through student exchange programs, faculty exchange programs, and joint research projects.

Adam M. Tugio and diplomatic staff also visited the College of Arts & Design (CAD), University of the Punjab, Lahore. During their visit to the College of Arts & Design (CAD), the ambassador and the diplomatic staff attended the Textile Design Degree Show 2021 organized by the College of Art and Design. Expressing his interest, His Excellency also stressed the need to develop connectivity between the textile sectors of both countries.

The meeting between the two institutions was facilitated by the Center for Global & Strategic Studies (CGSS), Islamabad.
