Planning Ministry corrects Chinese President’s message

ISLAMABAD : The Planning Ministry has taken notice of a news published by Daily Islamabad Post and released by DNA news agency, which highlighted the outdated quote of Chinese President on the ministry’s website.

 Daily Islamabad Post on July 15 published news about Planning Ministry’s website showing an outdated statement from the Chinese President.

The Chinese President’s statement addressed the then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and President Mamnoon Hussain and quoted as “President Hussain, Prime Minister Sharif and I have agreed to elevate China-Pakistan relations to an all weather strategic cooperative partnership…”.

However, after taking action news, the Planning ministry has now removed the old statement and updated the website.

Sources in the Planning Ministry informed that soon after the publication of news, the matter was brought into the notice of Minister Asad Umar who immediately took action and asked for removal of old content.

Sources further said since the statement related to President of China, therefore the Chinese embassy was also taken on board and with their consent the President’s message was corrected.
