ISLAMABAD, SEP 9 /DNA/ – In a major diplomatic development, Pakistan has appointed Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmed, currently serving as the country’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, as the new Foreign Secretary of Pakistan. The announcement, first reported by Islamabad Post on September 6, comes at a critical juncture as Pakistan navigates complex regional and global challenges.
Ambassador Asim Iftikhar is widely regarded as a seasoned diplomat with decades of experience in foreign service. During his tenure at the UN, he earned respect for his articulate advocacy on Pakistan’s core issues, including Kashmir and counter-terrorism.
