ISLAMABAD: A special ceremony was held in the federal capital on Monday to mark the 35th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with high-profile Pakistani dignitaries and diplomatic representatives in attendance.

Federal Minister for Energy, Sardar Awais Ahmed Leghari, graced the occasion as the chief guest. The event was also attended by Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi, Presidential Spokesperson Murtaza Solangi, and Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan H.E. Alisher Tukhtaev.

The highlight of the celebratory event was a formal cake-cutting ceremony, where the distinguished guests jointly cut a cake to commemorate three and a half decades of Uzbekistan’s sovereignty and independence. The gathering reflected the warm and fraternal ties between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, underscoring their shared history, cultural affinities, and mutual commitment to regional connectivity and cooperation.
