National Songs Competition at ICCI Reflects Pakistan’s Unity, Religious Harmony and National Spirit
ISLAMABAD, AUG 10 /DNA/ – Minister of State for Education Wajiha Qamar has said that the independence of Pakistan had been achieved after immense sacrifices by our forefathers, and the present generation must now fulfil its responsibility by working with dedication for the country’s progress, prosperity and stability. Her remarks came while addressing an impressive National Songs Singing Competition organized at ICCI in collaboration with D Watson Lion Club and Khokhar Studios in connection with Independence Day celebrations.
She said that the participation of people from different faiths in the Independence Day celebrations at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) was a true reflection of the white portion of Pakistan’s national flag, symbolizing peace, harmony and equal citizenship, and reaffirmed that the entire nation stood united for the honour, dignity and prosperity of Pakistan.
Referring to Pakistan’s defence agreement with Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, she said these developments had further enhanced Pakistan’s honour and strategic standing, stressing that the nation must remain united against all enemies, particularly terrorism. She paid rich tribute to the armed forces and law-enforcement agencies for their sacrifices in defending the country.
Senator Danesh Kumar, said minorities were standing shoulder to shoulder with the entire nation and the armed forces of Pakistan in protecting the country’s frontiers and would continue to play their role in promoting national prosperity. He said such events demonstrated that Pakistan’s strength lay in its diversity, tolerance and unity.
ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mehmood said the day was truly special because Allah Almighty had blessed the nation with the priceless gift of Pakistan. He said ICCI had always believed in creating platforms that strengthen national awareness, promote Pakistan’s national identity and convey the country’s positive message to the world. He said the real message of August 14 was not merely to raise flags and sing the national anthem, but to serve the people with honesty, dedication and excellence and to make meaningful contributions towards strengthening Pakistan’s economy and image.
Former ICCI President and Secretary General United Business Group Zafar Bakhtawari said the event was particularly significant because all minority communities were represented in the national celebration. He said Pakistan, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, had demonstrated its strength and resolve in confronting external threats. He stressed that the business community must now play its part in accelerating economic growth and prosperity.
ICCI Senior Vice President Tahir Ayub and Vice President Irfan Chaudhry in their addess highlighted the importance of unity, tolerance, peace and collective efforts for Pakistan’s development. ICCI Executive Member Zulqurnain Abbasi, ICCI members Jamil Khokhar and Ms. Saddaf Abbasi also spoke on the occasion.
Those present included former ICCI President Mohammad Ejaz Abbasi, Executive Members Waseem Chaudhry and Rohail Anwar Butt, ICCI members Ms. Nageena Khaleeque and Dr. Jharia Azhar, among others. The soulful national songs, enthusiastic participation and representation of different communities made the ceremony a memorable expression of Pakistan’s unity in diversity and unwavering national spirit.
