ISLAMABAD/RAJSHAHI, MAY 15, /DNA/ – The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan held Pakistan Higher Education Expo in Rajshahi, Bangladesh, under the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor, following successful exhibitions in Dhaka and Barishal aimed at promoting academic collaboration and scholarship opportunities for Bangladeshi students.
As many as 20 prestigious Pakistani universities are taking part in the exhibition series, highlighting the 500 Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarships for the Bangladeshi youth.
The University of Rajshahi hosted a detailed orientation session, conducted by HEC as part of the Pakistan Higher Education Expo. A huge number of students, parents, and general public visited the stalls, where HEC and university representatives welcomed and guided them about the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor and its various components.
Pro-Vice Chancellor of University of Rajshahi Prof. Mohammad Main Uddin, who attended the session as chief guest, appreciated the initiative to strengthen academic collaboration between Pakistan and Bangladesh. He encouraged students to apply for scholarships offered by Pakistani universities and highlighted the importance of education, academic exchange, and research collaboration in promoting mutual understanding between the two countries.
Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan in Bangladesh Mr. Muhammad Wasif also addressed the orientation session and highlighted the importance of Pakistan-Bangladesh relations. He informed participants about the launch of the second phase of scholarship opportunities for Bangladeshi students and invited them to pursue higher education in Pakistan.
Speaking on the occasion, Director General (Scholarship) HEC Mrs. Aayesha Ikram encouraged Bangladeshi students to take advantage of scholarship opportunities and apply for admission in diverse academic disciplines in Pakistan.
Project Director Allama Iqbal Scholarships Programme Mr. Jehanzeb Khan briefed the participants on the scholarship opportunities, admission procedures, and academic facilities available for Bangladeshi students in Pakistan.
Under the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor initiative, HEC Pakistan is offering 500 fully funded Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarships for Bangladeshi students. The first batch of 74 students has already started studies in Pakistan across various disciplines, marking a key milestone in bilateral educational cooperation.
