Ambassador Oumer presents credentials to President of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, APR 7 /DNA/ – Oumer Hussien Oba, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE), presented his Letters of Credence to H.E. Asif Ali Zardari, the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, during an official ceremony held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad on Tuesday.

Following the ceremony, the Honorable President held a bilateral meeting with the Ambassador to review the full spectrum of Ethiopia-Pakistan relations.

Both sides, during the meeting, reaffirmed a shared commitment to deepen their cooperation across both bilateral and multilateral platforms. Their discussions focused on exploring the immense potential in strategic sectors such as climate change, aviation, agriculture and business to further strengthen the bilateral relations.

On the occasion, Ambassador Dr. Oumer conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of H.E. President Taye Atske Selassie and H.E. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali (PhD) to the President and the people of Pakistan.

During the exchange, the Ambassador expressed Ethiopia’s profound appreciation for Pakistan’s “Look Africa and Engage Africa” policies and its resolute commitment to strengthen ties with the East African nations including Ethiopia.

H.E. President Asif Ali Zardari reciprocated the warm greetings to the leadership of Ethiopia and wished the Ambassador a successful tenure.

The Honorable President emphasized Pakistan’s desire to elevate the diplomatic and economic relations with the FDR Ethiopia.

Ambassador Dr. Oumer reaffirmed his commitment to work closely with the Government of Pakistan to foster a robust and mutually beneficial partnership during his mission in Islamabad.
