Ambassador Jemal invites Sindh governor to 2nd trade delegation to Ethiopia

ISLAMABAD, MAY 10: /DNA/ – Jemal Beker Abdula, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, has extended an invitation to Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori for the 2nd Business and Trade Delegation to Ethiopia, scheduled for May 26th to May 31st, 2024.

The Ambassador extended the invitation during a meeting with the Governor of Sindh at the Governor’s House, Karachi. Matters of mutual interests including bilateral, regional and multilateral cooperation between the two countries also came under the discussion.

H.E. Ambassador Jemal Beker briefed the Governor of Sindh about the activities planned for the 2nd business and trade delegation to Ethiopia including international manufacturing trade fair, business forums, visits to industrial parks and newly developed tourist sites and cultural nights in Addis Ababa.

He informed the Governor of Sindh about the overwhelming response being received by the 2nd trade delegation from the business community of Pakistan.

The Ambassador also shared the experiences of the last year trade delegation of Pakistani businesspersons to Ethiopia that played a crucial role in connecting the business community of both countries.

On the other side, the Governor of Sindh said he looked forward to visit Ethiopia which enjoyed brotherly and friendly relations with Pakistan.

He lauded the economic progress and development achieved by Ethiopia under the leadership of its visionary leader H.E. Dr. Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister of Ethiopia.

The Governor of Sindh briefed the Ambassador about his Free IT Courses Initiative under which thousands of students were being imparted trainings and skills on Artificial Intelligence, Web 3.0 and Metaverse.

Later on, H.E. Ambassador Jemal Beker Abdula addressed a large gathering of the students at the IT Facility and appreciated the initiative taken by the Governor of Sindh for empowering the youth with modern skills.

The Ambassador said Pakistan had talented youth that made more than 60 per cent of its total population. Equipping them with modern skills was crucial to spur economic growth and development in Pakistan, he added.

He said the modern technologies would help them connect with the global market which would eventually enable them to contribute to strong nation building.

The Ambassador said the Government of Ethiopia is ready to work with the Government of Pakistan for expertise, skills and knowledge sharing for ensuring equitable development across the globe.
