SaintÉtienne, :Australia on Sunday made a late change to their bench for their final Pool C clash against Portugal as Samu Kerevi replaced Carter Gordon.
Australia did not say why Gordon had been replaced.
Kerevi had started Australia's three previous pool stage matches but was originally dropped from the matchday 23, with head coach Eddie Jones explaining he had been below par.
"Samu (Kerevi) has probably been a little bit off, he's had a tough run-in to the World Cup coming back from (an) ACL (injury), two hamstring injuries," Jones had said on Friday.
"He just hasn't been as sharp as we would like him to be."
