ISLAMABAD, AUG 06 (DNA) — Additional District and Sessions Judge Humayun Dilawar, who had sentenced Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan to three years in prison and disqualified him for five years in the Toshakhana criminal case, has left for England to attend a judicial conference.

A letter dated August 4 regarding the nomination of Judge Humayun Dilawar for training in London has come to the fore. The Islamabad High Court (IHC) chief justice had nominated the judge for the training.

The IHC registrar wrote a letter to the judge on August 4 last. “The name of Judge Humayun Dilawar should be added for training in place of Judge Faizan Haider,” the text of the letter read.

“Judge Humayun Dilawar will join the training in London from August 5 to August 13. The training session is to be held at the University of Hull,” it added. The process of joining the judicial conference by judges from Islamabad had been going on for two months.

Names of some judges were changed, and those of others were added, after they were not granted visas to attend the judicial conference, the IHC sources said. In Peshawar too, the names of some judges were changed after they did not get visas, the IHC sources added. — DNA
