Girl, aged 2, injured critically as abandoned bomb goes off in Neelum Valley

MUZAFFARABAD, AUG 06 (DNA) — A two-year-old baby girl got injured when an abandoned bomb went off in Palri in the surrounding area of District headquarters Neelum Valley. According to rescuers, the incident of bomb explosion occurred when she was playing with the bomb thinking it as a toy outside her house.

The rescuers said after the incident, the girl Abeeha was rushed to a nearby hospital where the doctors referred her to Muzaffarabad hospital after giving her first aid. Doctors told that the toddler is badly injured and her condition is critical.

District Disaster Management Authority is of the view that probably the bomb was dropped by India. Officials of Authority said that so far this year, dozens of people fell prey to anti-personnel mines and ‘toy’ bombs in different areas along the Line of Control. â€” DNA
