*OGDC Commences Gas and Condensate Production from Bitrism East-1 Well in Khairpur, Sindh*

ISLAMABAD, October 22, 2026: Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC) has commenced gas and condensate production from its Bitrism East-1 exploratory well located in Khairpur district of Sindh province, marking significant progress in bringing new hydrocarbon discoveries into production.

The Bitrism East-1 exploratory well is currently producing 7.0 million standard cubic feet of gas per day (MMSCFD) and 200 barrels of condensate per day from the Basal Sands. Production is expected to increase gradually as the well’s flow stabilises.

OGDC announced the gas and condensate discovery at Bitrism East-1 on October 1, 2025, in the Massive and Basal Sands of the Lower Goru Formation.

To accelerate production from the discovery, OGDC used its in-house resources to lay an approximately 28-kilometre, 8-inch-diameter flowline connecting the well to the Sinjhoro Plant for processing. The processed gas is now being supplied to the Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) network, adding to Pakistan’s indigenous gas supplies.

OGDC is the operator of the Bitrism Exploration Licence with a 77.5 percent working interest, in a joint venture with Government Holdings (Private) Limited (GHPL), which holds the remaining 22.5 percent.

The commencement of production from Bitrism East-1 reflects OGDC’s continued focus on bringing new discoveries into production, enhancing domestic hydrocarbon supplies and contributing to Pakistan’s energy security.
