ISLAMABAD, Aug 30 (DNA): Ambassador Mudassir has issued detailed guidelines for Pakistani nationals traveling to Uzbekistan on work visas, urging citizens to exercise caution and follow proper procedures to avoid legal and financial complications.
In a statement shared on social media, the ambassador highlighted that most individuals traveling for employment are initially granted B‑2 visas by the Uzbek Embassy in Pakistan, which are later converted into E‑visas by employers after arrival and vetting of documents by Uzbek authorities.
He advised nationals to process visas preferably through registered Overseas Employment Promoters (OEPs) and obtain a work protector from the Bureau of Immigration and Overseas Employment. Having a valid contract before arrival was emphasized as essential to prevent disputes and unexpected costs.
Ambassador Mudassir cautioned against overstaying visas, warning that heavy penalties and possible legal action could follow. He strongly discouraged processing visas through informal agents or unknown individuals, stressing that such practices often lead to exploitation.
The advisory also urged travelers to keep passports in their own possession, register with the Embassy of Pakistan upon arrival in Uzbekistan, and contact the mission immediately for assistance whenever required.
Reaffirming the embassy’s commitment, Ambassador Mudassir stated: “We are always here to serve you with dedication and commitment.”
