TASHKENT, AUG 23 /DNA/ – President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and First Lady Ziroat Mirziyoyeva officially welcomed President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva to the Kuksaroy Residence in Tashkent on Sunday, marking the start of a key state visit.
The Azerbaijani leader was received with full ceremonial honors, including a guard of honor and a formal parade in the palace square, which was adorned with the national flags of both nations.
Following a joint photo session, the two presidents proceeded to hold high-level bilateral talks focused on strengthening strategic partnership, expanding trade, and deepening cultural and economic cooperation between the two Central Asian and South Caucasus states.
While specific outcomes of the discussions have yet to be released, the visit underscores the growing ties between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, both key players in the Turkic world and the broader Eurasian region.
